Re: Hi all! (Alfa 90 repair pics inside)

I do plan on uprated springs as well as a bar. The springs are fairly easy to throw in there any time, the sway bar looks like it may be a little more difficult! Of course, I will be running stiffer front torsion bars and sway bar as well, just thought it might be a very good time to do the rear bar...

Re: Hi all! (Alfa 90 repair pics inside)

Well, I got tired of waiting for my brake pads to arrive, so I rebuilt the front calipers, repacked front wheel bearings and fitted the new front rotors and braided lines. All I need now is pads, which I am assured wil arrive soon. If they don't, I'll go buy some cheapies locally and put them in to ...

Re: Aluminum fly

With some other brand engines, I've seen people make up plate steel counterweights that sandwich between flywheel and crank. It means you don't have to worry about balance when lightening or manufacturing a light flywheel, just have to ensure the counterweight is right and bolt it in. Regards, Andrew.

Re: Axle Tramp

Also check control arm bushes and I guess transaxle bushes. A little extra bump damping can often kill wheelhop too.

Re: Hi all! (Alfa 90 repair pics inside)

So I've once again found the "Alfas are hard to work on" line a myth...one hour to change the timing belt. I'll give the front of the engine a good clean whilst the belt is off and replace all the drive belts to, cheap insurance, especially for something that's going to spin 6500 rpm a fai...

Re: Some more brake upgrades for the 116-Barry

Steel plate is a nice material, 8 or 10mm bar stock is good, available in up to 150mm width. It has the advantage of being fairly easy to work with grinders etc and taps nicely, plus is cheap and available anywhere. I mock up adaptors in MDF, it will drill and tap well enough for pattern work, then ...

Re: rats attack a GTV6!

Your best bet might be to contact a motor wrecker and buy a complete engine bay harness. If you lay the new harness out over the engine bay, you'll see where it all has to go, then you plug the big plug in at the firewall and slowly lead the wiring where it needs to go, following the old harness alr...

Re: Hi all! (Alfa 90 repair pics inside)

Nice work! Can you get some compensation for the indicator stalk? It's fixed now, it wasn't too bad. If you know how the Milano switch gear works, the stalks bolt onto a larger plastic part, the bolts had broken off that hold the stalk & switch assembly to the large plastic part. I just splooge...

Re: Hi all! (Alfa 90 repair pics inside)

The 90 passed registration inspection yesterday and is now registered At times I didn't think I'd make the deadline or actually find the wherewithall to finish it, but there you go, it's done. The Ass*#*e that did the rego inspection managed to rip the turn signal/light combination stalk right out ...

Thanks! The car is all back together now and waiting for me to get a chance to take it for registration inspection. It will get re registered and no more work on it till christmas (it will get driven though, just no go fast gear), my motorcycle has just shown some signs of terminal illness (oil in t...

Re: Milano Twin Turbo

My Volvo runs an electric shutter valve on the PCV system right at the turbo elbow attachment, could be worth looking at for that setup. Just have the ecu shut it at say 2" vacuum or run a simple vacuum switch to earth it or similar. Also on my Volvo, I had issues with the PCV system being over...
