Re: Milano Verde Has No Spark
It's fixed ! One of the major problems turned out to be the Ignition Advance Control Unit. I didn't have a replacement for that unit. Turned out to be full of water! The root cause was a leaking windshield seal. I think the windshields are simply glued on. No gasket. I knew I had a leak somewhere bu...

Re: Milano Verde Has No Spark
The first thing Group 2 did was swap out the dual looking relay on the firewall. No luck. I'll ask them about the one you've shown MD. Grounds have also been gone through so I think we're good there. Thanks for the inputs guys. I left a message with Group 2 so will hear from them this afternoon but ...

Re: Milano Verde Has No Spark
Here I am again. It's been a while, sorry for not posting some status sooner. So I followed everyone's advice, swapped out everything but the wireing harness and distributer. Finally got tired of dealing with it so sent it off to Group 2 in Seattle. I figured there at least they'll have identical Mi...

Re: Milano Verde Has No Spark
ECU has no power ? Good question, I’ll check. Does the spark box have power ? Yes. I agree with you MR2 Zig, I think the problem is on the spark control side but I’ve been wrong before. I’ll doublecheck the grounds but believe I’ve already went through them. Thanks for the suggestions. Murry, I’ll c...

Re: Milano Verde Has No Spark
Wow ! No replys, and it's been a while. I'd figure Mats, Greg, JJ, or some of those folks south of the equator would have something to suggest (thats car related). I'm going to have a second look at the distributor even though I don't think it's the problem. See if the rotor is turning when the engi...

Milano Verde Has No Spark
Hello everyone, My stock 1989 3.0 Milano Verde died a while back and I have not been able to find the root cause. The fundamental problem is that it doesn’t produce any spark. I searched the forum but really didn’t notice anything. Checks with both timing light and simply grounding the spark plug sh...

Fuel Pump Relay Location for 89 Milano Verde ?
I've looked in the manual but don't see where the location is for relay for the fuel pump. It's sticking closed not allowing the fuel pump to stop running.
Now that I'm thinking about it, is the relay mearly the flapper valve for the AFM ?
Thanks,
Merril

Re: Milano Basket Handle Parking Brake to Conventional Handle ?
Well, other than Mats giving me a little guff, I guess there's no ideas out there. I have to replace the parking brake cable anyway so I'll have a look when I'm up under there. I know for the hyper ultra purists (like Mats ;-) ) that cup holders and cars don't mix, but I've got my GTV6 for track day...

Re: Milano Basket Handle Parking Brake to Conventional Handle ?
My sippy cup works fine for that, unless it's beer. The carbonation tends to foam out the drinking spout in repeated twisty corners !

Re: Milano Basket Handle Parking Brake to Conventional Handle ?
You must be thinking about the box under the arm rest there Mats. I was thinking about the area ahead of that storeage area, the well where one's knuckles go when grasping the basket handle parking brake. I'd rather use it to hold a drink. Something I can spill when going fast around a corner

Milano Basket Handle Parking Brake to Conventional Handle ?
I would like to make use of the well blocked by the oh-so-stylish Milano basket handle parking brake. Has anyone made a conversion to a standard type of handle ? I've got to replace the parking brake cable anyway so it'd be nice to make the conversion then.
Thanks,
Merril

Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
Simon, I've heard that too. And indication that Alfa's production/manufacturing processes was quite ineficient. Remember too that the GTV6 was an expensive car in it's day. I also remember Porsche was beginning to have similar problems and brought over Japenese experts to help them out. I'm thinking...

Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
I think the S2000 is the right idea. I was thinking of something like Ducati HyperMotards or Monsters with paniers (ok, a Multistrada but better looking). The Honda and the Ducatis are minimalist applications that would do Alfa well. I don't want to see tarted up Fiat's with Alfa badges and uncompet...
