Re: Hello from NL - introducing my 75TB

Hi Jeroen Pity you can't get a set of 75 Evo stub axles ( uprights) as that help keep your roll centre on front consistent when you lower the front of the car . I think their about 25mm longer on the section between the stub axle and bottom ball joint section . I'm definitely not a fan of them been ...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

I sent all the dimensions from this pic off to TTV racing who made a new flywheel for me in one piece . Flywheel weighs in at 5.6 kg . From here I took to flywheel to have the inbalance copied from my original . Luckily their is a chap who specialises in this type of balancing here in Uk at Basset D...

Finally got around to getting another clutch made that will make car more street usable . Was bit of an effort pulling box out in the drive especially with a turn in the weather did not make it fun . Once clutch was out I made a home made dial gauge to measure max distance the proposed E34 M5 unit c...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK

Steve , good to see that supercharged beast of a GTV on the track . Goes like hell  . It was an excellent day even though I only did the afternoon session in non Alfa ( Clio sport - aarrrggh ) . Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

As I said when misfired occurs get car in dark place and look for arcing in and around covers . Could even be pinching a coil wire when covers went back - not unusual . Must do that test .

Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

I think I will put money on a hairline crack in one of the coil packs or even tiny hole in suppressor below the coil pack . Take front coil pack cover of get car hot ( at night , turn lights off) and look for arcing . You might even see it in back bank under plenum . I have a 24v spider and 156 24v ...

Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

I have seen a few 24v engines with broken hydraulic lifters with standard cams . ( probable because my mate owned an Alfa workshop ) Only one lifter breaks . It looks like the piston of lifter punches through into casing . Does the engine make any ticking noises at idle or even rev up .

Re: Agip ENI Rotra MP SAE 80w-90 Transmission Oil 20 Litres

Gl4 oil is also designed for hypoid gear in gearbox and has less EP additives than GL5 oil . With synchros it's actually better with gl4 oil as gl5 has lower coefficient of friction with extra additives which does not allow synchros to engage as effectively . You need to try what works best for your...

Re: Agip ENI Rotra MP SAE 80w-90 Transmission Oil 20 Litres

Well the gl5 will take care of any pinion issues as that's an EP oil . Just check have to see how it feels on synchros and check that it does not attack Brass in the spec sheet . You only need 2.9 litres .

Re: Hello from relocation to UK

Thanks Steve for the feedback . It is nice when someone gets to enjoy a car in its original trim , which actually shows it's not a bad car at all ! By the way their is a track day at Goodwood on Friday and a bunch of us heading there . I'm sure it will be cold and damp but who cares . You should joi...
