Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

I think the twin plate was a good setup for the track if modified and too many people abandoned it. I remembered when my mom replaced the twin plate setup for the 75's single plate setup back in the late 80's. I'm guessing SA must be one of the few countries where the abundance of GTV6s and lack of ...

Re: Fuel Injector Spray Pattern

Coolant leak solved. Put K-Seal, to make sure liner seal leaks are covered. They were probably ok from the beginning Check compression (all good, 220-230 cold dry), so not a head gasket issue Oil not in coolant, so not head gasket issue Opened the cam cover. Found traces of fresh coolant close to th...

Re: Fuel Injector Spray Pattern

For these injectors to seat properly, you need to shorten the 164 or CF2 injector rail brackets. There are 2 brackets per rail. It needs shortening by maybe 5mm or so. If you don’t, it’s possible that the injectors won’t fully seat and you may have vacuum leaks.

Re: Head torque settings for 24V

I pressurized the engine's cooling system to about 14 psi and it leaks coolant THROUGH THE HEAD STUDS THREADS!!! 4 of them to be exact. Anyway I also opened the 6 coolant plugs in the heads, put sealant and found missing washers, so I put in copper washers as well. Then cleaned up the head studs thr...

Head torque settings for 24V

What are your recommendations? I think factory is 18.4 ft-lbs (oiled stud) + 240degrees (60x4), but some have said that’s almost 95 ft-lbs of torque. That’s a lot higher than the 12V spec. How have you done yours?

Nice! Escaping the UK winter? The brake disks re-drilled to 4x98? The Giulietta is also raced here in the USA.

Re: Fuel Injector Spray Pattern

I installed the 832 injectors and the idle is smoother than the 701 injectors. I think my setting with the 832 injectors in the software was incorrect, may have cause that problem where it would stumble. Once I fix my coolant issue, I will put the 832 injectors back in with the correct setting (I th...

Re: Engine coolant mostly gone

To update everyone, there was still some minor seepage after putting in the k-seal. But nothing as bad as it was originally. I think the brass plugs in the cylinder heads were the cause. There were no copper crush washers and I found coolant in that area. Putting in some high temp thread sealant and...

He has given up on this forum and is now extremely active on Farcebook. People there worship him, some confuse him for Zeus’ long lost son. I suggest you step up your efforts, Get a Farcebook account and put him in his place. Don’t worry Jules, measuring the thickness of your wallet using a feeler g...

Re: Fuel Injector Spray Pattern

I'm starting almost from scratch. Got a base map from Beninca. You're right about the exhaust leak. I read that on another forum about the same thing, even a small leak will have an impact on your A/F. I knew I had a small leak. Even after tightening a loose downpipe bolt and eliminating the small e...

Re: My rebuild!

Just one thing Jules, another perspective, we’re not getting any younger. If you keep on having very high goals for a project, you’ll eventually give up or move on to something else. Seen that happen, as I’m sure you have too. Keep it real mate. Not saying it can’t happen with the Vette box, but wha...
