Nice work! Can you get some compensation for the indicator stalk?

Re: Crank pulley dynamic balance

Thanks for the responses. I understand the gains will be negligible based on the pulley diameter, but I wanted a challenge. It is cast iron, but I'm pretty comfortable with the strength of it. There's still a lot of material there on the sides of the grooves. I'll take care to chamfer/radius all sha...

Crank pulley dynamic balance

G'day guys. I thought it would be an interesting project to see how much weight I could machine off the crank pulley for my 2.5. It was going well until I started thinking about the axial movement of the counter weight. Pictured below is the jig I made for static balance. The pair were balanced toge...

I think it's a Maserati but I'd need to look it up.

Have you decided what to do with the castor bar joints?

Re: C&S' 90

G'day Sheldon. I know your name but our paths haven't crossed yet. Nice work on the 3 litre.

Can I guess Maserati Bi-turbo convertible and Ferrari 250 or 330?

Re: 550hp+ Alfa 75 Twin Spark Turbo

It was nice to meet you Garth. The car still has the standard tail shaft but the owner's planning to put in a one piece unit and move the gear linkages into the cabin.

Re: World Cup 2010

There's talk here too about how major soccer nations seem to have more referee decisions go their way. A lot of Aussies will get on the NZ bandwagon if we don't get through. Funny too that the only sporting event North Korea has broadcast live in a long time was one in which they were beaten 7-0. Th...

Well done Serbia! Quite an upset, but you're lucky it wasn't a draw after that handball!

Re: World Cup 2010

Yeah, pretty disappointing. I mean, losing to Germany is bearable, but 4-0 is bad. And the red card on Tim Cahill was bullshit. Woke up at 3.30am this morning and went to watch it at a local cinema. The guy sitting behind me had a vuvuzela. Man, they're bloody loud, I'd only ever heard them on the T...

Maurizio, did you add any bracing to cope with your extra spring?

Thanks, Scott

Re: 4-cylinder turbo performance

Apart from the CR, how different is the 1.8T to the non turbo 1.8 Nord engine? eg, cams, conrods, valve sizes, combustion chambers?

Thanks, Scott

Re: GTV 6 injector size??

I've got 17.6lbs/hr @ 36.5 written in my notes but I'm not sure where that came from.

The formula is:

[ sq. root(new pressure/old pressure) ] x old flow rate = new flow rate

Also,

lbs/hr x 10.2 = cc/min
