Re: Fanbelt keeps losing tension.

And another thing, why do some shops give an 825mm belt for these cars when an 850mm one fits or does this vary from version to version?

Fanbelt keeps losing tension.

Hi, I know that this is a really basic question but it has been annoying me over the last through months. I keep setting the fanbelt tension and then it slowly (and sometimes not so slowly) works itself loose, squealing and once even managing to work itself off. I do not want to set it madly tight a...

Re: Angel Eye Headlights

Which model of lights fits on the GTV6? I can't find any rhd lights at the moment. I am driving around with taped up 20 year old LHD lights so you can imagine how good that is.

Re: '92 3.0 valve guides

I had the head done in 2000 in Spain and they skimmed the head then, I don't know how much. Used to pink on 95 ron so I used to use 98 or 100 when it was available. In the UK, I am using Tesco or Shell's 99 fuel, which the car likes. I think I am going to live with the wisps of smoke for now, ever s...

Re: '92 3.0 valve guides

How big a job is it to change them? My 2.5 has been smoking a bit on the over-run since about 2004. Must sort it out one of the days...

Re: Cast iron front calipers?

I will answer my own question, yes they are! I just got a rebuilt Brembo one listed for the Alfa 75 from carmaster.de for a very reasonable price :) They were hard to find in the UK from the usual sources. I am back on the road again and hoping they don't start salting the roads yet.

Re: Greetings Alfisti! Introducing me & my 1985 GTV6 project

This car is properly gorgeous, an amazing piece of work. Well done for investing your money in this way, all GTV6ers in the UK benefit from keeping these specialists going. I hope that you get it rust-proofed and then drive it a lot. I am sure that you won't want to drive anything else! I look forwa...

Re: Cast iron front calipers?

Hello, I am back on this topic again as one of the front calipers is leaking slightly, probably because it was dry for so long. All the UK brake suppliers list ATE cast iron calipers but I am sure that mine are Brembo. Are they the same as the 75 2.5 ones?

Re: Steering Rack and driveshaft Gaiters.

Ok so I found the driveshaft gaiters at okp and eb spares and I can find LHD steering boots at okp but I have no idea if they will fit a RHD car.

Steering Rack and driveshaft Gaiters.

Hello,

My GTV6 just failed the MOT on a steering rack gaiter. These do not appear to be available at the moment. Is it a special one for RHD cars? Also I got an advisory for a driveshaft gaiter. Does anyone know where to find them? Thanks, then I can start using it legally on UK roads.

Re: Winter tyres

It needs five stud wheels. Just normal winter tyres I guess, most people in the UK just use Summer tyres all year round but the weather is getting more Scandinavian and it is probably a good idea anyway. My other choice is to just get the bus on bad days!

Winter tyres

I know that it is suicide but I will have to use my Gtv6 (sparingly) through the winter this year as it will be the sole car for a young family. Naturally it will be bathed in waxoyl and dinitrol and washed after every journey but does anyone know of any good steelies and winter tyres that would fit...

I now have the full CSC system, manifolds, centre section with silencer and rear section with twin tailpipes on my 2.5. I like the sound, GTV6 only more so and not too loud either.

Re: Hello from relocation to UK

Glad to see that you are settling in well. I am going back to the UK in August, first time in 15 years! I will be using my '84 GTV6 as a daily driver, kids are still small enough (5 and 7). Wish me luck...Fiat Estate is staying in Italy and no budget to get GTV6 back on the road and a daily driver. ...
