It looks like an improved GTV6 design, not a bad thing at all.

Probably a show car, easily adjustable ride height.

Hi, first post, long time lurker. if you look closly the lower spring perch is actually above the upper a arm. very similar to the current maserati qp, with very long shock bodies. sorry, no torsion bars on the 8c.

Thanks Zackspeed, and welcome to the board.

My monitor is trash, but now that you have mentioned it I can see what you are talking about.

Assuming the picture was taken from the front of the car looking back (based on the position of the steering knuckle on the right side of the photo), then why does the anti-roll bar go behind the lower A-arm? Does it go under the engine? Where does it attach to the body?

well after peeking under a qp that i've got on my hoist i'd say that the suspension is virtually identical and that the 8c is probably on a shortened qp chassis like the upcoming new maserati coupe. which in itself is good news b/c the qp has one fantastic chassis. in any case that would mean that this picture is from the rear looking forward, and the sway bar mounts are on the lower subframe immediately above the lower control arm forward pickup point. fwiw. i cannot wait for this car to arrive. it will be sweet.

If the photo is from the back (and I'm not questioning this) why then is the steering tie rod ahead of the lower control arm? Just seems odd and I'm sure there is a good reason. If you can answer the question please feel free to flame me for my ignorance!

the qp chassis has what is called a front mid engine layout where the entire engine is behind the front wheel centerline. also the engine is set very low. this gives the car fanastic balance when used in conjuction with the rear transaxle. anyway the steering rack then needs to be placed farther forward to clear the engine, thus you see the steering arm ahead of the lower a arm. whew... wish i knew this much about gtv6's. thats why i usually just lurk here. :)

That makes sense since the engine (and GB?) will be Maserati derivates.
Rack in front of the engine is the proper way to design it, not only can you drop the engine down and rearwards but you also get pulling loads in the steering rods and not pushin as in the 116 cars.
