ECU in place. :)

Still a lot of wiring to be done though.

mats,

Some progress is better than no progress.

Just looking at your clustering of electronic components. I am not saying that you will definitely have this problem but if you do, the proximity of the igniters to the ECU may cause some high energy interference. I like to keep these two as far apart as practical.

I spent three and a half days tracking down interference to my Haltec inputs caused by proximity issues so I am passing it on for what its worth.

Noted, I appreciate the heads up. I have considered this as well but given that there are 8 powerful igniters Inside the ECU I'm hope the DTA guys managed to kill that issue. :D

I'm not ready to scratch it off my list though. Both casings are thoroughly earthed/grounded as well and I'm routing the HT-wires to the coil through another hole in the FW away from the sensor wires. Hopefully that will do it. If not, I'll have to think of something, including relocating the MSD unit. Bus since I have never had any issues from it before with any electronic equipment (stereos, radios, cameras, other ECUs) I hope it will be ok. It does make quite a nasty sound though.

Designing and building hybrid electric drive prototype cars at work has taught me a few things, one thing is to never underestimate the potential issues from EMC... :)

1200 km to the Ring and 2 laps of the Nordschleife the 155 performs flawlessly. Just under 10l/100Km @ ~150Km/h pace. I'm impressed.
We're at the Pistenklause now and it's of course hot as hell and one if us (not me) have just had a beer poured all over him by a sloppy waitress.. Oh well, better then joining Club Bongard.

Yes! I have both GoPro videos and Harrys Laptimer videos done today. :)
There has been a few closures now but I think there will be less people driving the rest of the day, have driven six laps and have another 3 on my card. :)

Great trip! I even met Micke on Sunday and had a quick chat before wolfing down a complete Pinocchio Pfefferschnitzel plate... Anyone who have tried that knows it's an accomplishment.
Video/"logging data" to follow. Nothing to write home about, I still need a few hundred more laps to build up the courage to go fast in some corners. I now have 21 laps on the Ring so I'm still very much a rookie.

Thanks to Maurizio for being a great guide to some of the nice spots, both around the track and the resturant two villages over. :)

The 155 is amazing, not only did we drive it the 2400Km return trip to the Ring but also 12 laps in hot weather and it never even flinched. Total. Oil consumption was about 1 liter and that is just unheard of. Remember 24h @ 3500 rpm or more and 12 laps of the NS.
Need to fix that AC though, it was fairly warm in that greenhouse of a car...

Glad you like the 155 V6. I have the same problem too. Why does this car only use....almost no oil?? Why? Was this engine made in Japan or something? But I really dislike the gap between 2nd and 3rd. Too wide. Needs a 156 V6 6-speed gearbox.

BTW Mats, I had a chance to extensively drive a wide track 16V. If only it was a 2.2 or something with 180+ bhp. Handles very well stock. That thing would be way more fun on the ring....provided it doesn't eat all of its main and rod bearings before the gantry. :)

 Being at the ring is always nice Mats, even if it is just on a rainy day along the track instead of being on it.

next time/year we meet up, my aim is try to prove, that the my ring ts actually exists

I find the gap between all the gears annoying at the Ring, works great on the street though so there is no real driver for change. When I realized I should just throw it into the corner without lifting in third gear at Ex-Mühle the frustration went down a lot.
My third gear syncro is really bad though so that's something I have to look at soon. Never had a transverse gearbox down before so I'm not sure what to expect. Looks like an engine-out kind of job.

Maurizio: Tell me, is the Spider still on the lift? 8)
