Hi Marc. How is your car doing. Is making big power with that 3.7.
Out of interest a friend od mine just sold his SZ,RZ, Montreal and GTV3.0l to the Rupert car museum.(Rupert is owner of BAT = British american Tobacco). The sz had only 4000km on the clock and went for R600 000. He did not want to part with the GTV3.0l but the deal would not be done unless the GTV was in. I know it went for way over R100 000. Keep me posted on your 3.7. Would like to see videos.
Cheers

Marc,

Just ask what Greg Gordon uses for his customer cars. The red 75 3.0 has 265 rwhp and any clutch he uses for that car should suite yours even though you car may have a more. Euro still quite a bit higher than the US so you better act fast before one of the 2 currencies become banana money.

sorry for the delay, but the story continues:in 2009 the engine plus gotech was installed.
we installed a new original pressure plate and a springed performatek clutch where one side is sintered and the other is normal, works without any troubles.
no oil cooler was installed and no problems with heat occured.
the original brakebooster was used but we tilted it a little bit upwards and that works fine together with the 330mm gta brakes.
exhaust and heating work fine, only had a slight problem with the rev counter that only went till 3000 rpm and went dead after that.
we used the airfilter combination from beninca.
the gotech was programmed at 2000 meters altitude and i wanted it to be programmed at 0 meters altitude.
nobody here in belgium or holland could do that and the system needed to be precisely programmed for the CO pollution.
some guy tried to reprogram the gotech but failed, after that he installed the adaptronic system but the stupid guy wasn't able to program his own installed computer, asshole!
i think my engine was running to rich or sometimes to lean and the engine failed.
bore and piston rings were glazed.
the engine ran fine, without any troubles but used one litre of oil every 100 km's!!
so after driving for about 2000km's and checking the oil level every 100 km i send it back to barry.
he changed the rings, liners and put in a real headgasket from kevin and thus removed the rings on top of the liners and barry did it all free of charge!!
yesterday the ship arrived with engine still in the container.
now i am impatiently awaiting it to be brought home to me for reinstalling....
that will be in the next weeks, will keep you informed.

Hi Marc,

welcome back..

Too bad about about your soap-story engine. :( I'm glad it's al coming together nicely now. Absolute thumbs-up for Barry!!

What are you going to do about the mapping now? I know of a compant here in Nijmegen which is very good with VEMS. They have their own dyno and build very different stuff, not the ordinary chipping guys. They might be able to help you out...

the company is DP-engineering, http://www.dp-engineering.com/

hi remco,
barry programmed the gotech in his car and it should be fine now!
every few month a guy from gotech uk comes to ron simons place to program gotech systems.
maybe he can check the air to fuel ratio at our sea level.i will be very careful with changing barry's mapping.
i hope that now the full estimated 300hp will apear :D

That saves me typing a PM... I was almost asking you if you wanted to sell the Gotech...

The Adaptronic-horror-story was resolved by the seller i presume?

Will you be going to the Dutch SSAR this year with the car? :D

the seller did nothing!BS autotune.(bull shit tuner)
when i collected the car i almost hit him in the face...i would have liked to.
i had to drive the car back home with great care, i was glad i made it.
the engine ran so extremely bad that i wrote to the adaptronic distributor and that man solved all the problems.

and i am not going to the anual alfa meeting as i am on holiday.

Nice... :(

that's not the first time i hear bad things about them, but most of the time it has to do with promisses not being kept and things taking way longer then agreed. Friend of mine took his audi a3 with a 20vt engine put in there to get a full loom + kdfi build in. H was promissed it would take a week or two but after a month there still was no progress. he took the car away, had a good shouting at the guy that was there and went to DP-engineering who fixed the car.

To bad you're on holiday.. (for us that is.. )

i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! you've definetely deserved a good running 300hp car by now.
