rebuilt my spare LSD today. Yes, I had the ring gear welded and machined....but it's the back up one...

LSD had 3 shims and one friction disc on one side , and 4 shims and one friction disc on the other side.

I had 6 new shims of 3 thicknesses. doing some easy math, I maintained the pack thickness on each side and replaced 5 shims and 2 friction discs.

bearings look like new..NO scoring, grooves or wear spots..

Next is to replace the sliders and sinchros and RR dogs. I have to pull apart a broken transaxle for some spares anyway...

Xrad. If you don't do any good locally, send me a PM and I'll organise some posts on local Forums for you. Should be able to come up with a set as long as you are then willing to trade direct with a contact that I might come up with. I am too busy to be the gofer.

Well, after some long thought, for the gtv6, have decided to nix the chrome bumper idea and go with smooth body .....NO bumpers.

yeah,yeah..'told you so' and all that shit... Now that I have a decent welder, I can do some body work without burn through..

car will have an all white front spoiler and smooth rear end. Turnsignals will be incorporated into spoiler. I have a set of GTV6 and Euro Alfetta front turn signals, but have not decided which to install...

pics to come...

Maybe green /white/ red stripes on the hood..

You want to make your GTV into something like a 360 Challenge Stradale with stripes?

Maybe for the GTV it will be ChallengeD Stradale.

When you smooth out the body of the car please also take out the horrible sidemarking-lights....

What are you gonna do to the rear end of the car? Without a bumper it looks quite silly, there is a strange lip sticking out behind it ( most of the times also quite rusty there), right where the boot-floor meets the rearpanel.

I'm going the same direction as you are with my car. I plan to use the earlier type nose on my 83 GTV and leave the bumper off. For the rear i'm probably going with a small chrome(more then likely this will be powdercoated flat-black, i'm not into the bling. ) bumper from another car, just to cover off the lip-thing.
Drive it like you stole it...
