That's a really nice Alfetta. I have always liked the strange instrument cluster, and the cleaner look of the original design vs the GTV6 which is a little cluttered.

Thanks GG. I appreciate the comment! It is a unique design, and since I don;t pay attention to speed as much as rpms, perfect for me...

Hi guys!

It's been a while. Been busy rebuilding head after bent valve. mild porting, port matching to the spider FI intake. FI intake conversion completed after some time chasing electrical gremlins.

Ended up using 123ignition set of JK's 'D' curve, 11mm IAP cams, new injectors, and MSD 6A for spark. Finally, fuel only control with Haltech sprint 500 and dyno tuned to 108 Hp at wheels. I feel this is underestimating the car because it really flys on the road..WOW..just awesome.

Added new bilsteins all around (~80$ or less each on Amazon!)

anyway..it is superfun to drive..

Don't these older 2L engines have 9:1 compression only?

1962cc w/9:1 comp. Many shops offer high comp pistons, but runs great on 93 as is. Sounds sweet when in the car driving it.

I think JK said in his book, he shaved his V6 heads, with S-pistons and run on 89 and 91 (USA rating). With your programmable, why not, you can adjust everything. And with big cams, no reason to run low compression setup. Only way to make power is with compression. Shave the head :) . I remember when I had a 2.5 with S-cams, car was a dog at low rpms. The static CR was just way too low.

Must have been something else wrong, the S-Cams is very mild should not be affected by compression ratio?!

The biggest reason to run 9:1 was 'time.' I did not have any to rebuild the low end and get the car out of the shop.

Best thing for me to do is get some nice rods, pistons, sleeves and all new bearings and do the bottom up right....

but she runs great right now...I mean really great! So I don;t plan on messing with a good thing..

The body is mint, the engine runs great...so next summer..time to have some fun driving her!

Need to concentrate on the new GTV6....

Hey I am still alive, I just checked! :o

Thougt you 4 banger guys might be interested in this:

Just bought a JAFCO turbo engine. Everything in great shape except the turbo. Low comp pistons, Cast fe manifold mint, crank mint with allen head screws, even came with the pressure sensor type SPICA solenoid (talk about rare item)..

Also just got a rebuilt lightened milano transaxle from Larry jr at APE to go with the above engine... should be a fun build!
