Hello Alfa fans.

My name is Martin and I've been interested in Alfa Romeo since I was a boy and our neighbor bought an used 33 TD. We never had enough money to buy one however always sticked with an Italian car - 127, UNO, Stilo, etc. When the 156 was first introduced I just went to University and that time was not even dreaming one day I could buy one.

Anyway after some years I got a bit more fortunate and am currently a proud owner of a 156 GTA (Bought it as used in Slovenia.), 145 QV (Bought it for my wife in Czech. Will never do the same mistake again.) and a 159 2.0 JTDm TI ("My" first car from new ever.) which is still a company car but planning to buy it out after the leasing is over.

I know what you think now. If I did not misunderstand what is this forum about and whether it would not be better to join rather an AR user group on LinkedIn. Have to say that I really admire the amount of knowledge and experience most of the members have here. Just hope I will be able to contribute one day as well. I'm not a mechanic nor a racing driver. However I really love to work out and learn many things on my own whether it comes to repairing or modifying my beloved Alfas.

The older I get the more I appreciate the look, simplicity and the engineering geniality of old cars. My dream is to own one day a GTV6, Giulia / Giulia Sprint, 164, Alfetta. However currently I'm really lusting a GTV6 or Giulia TS although financial situation and garage space does not cope with my insanity.

Whatever the future might be I was really enjoying reading all kind of threads and posts here on the forum as a guest and hopefully I will be able to try out at least some of them on my own when the time comes. Looking forward to learn even more as a member now.

Don't have many good pictures. However at least some:

Bought the car in Slovenia. Can recommend that country. Most of the people really care about their cars and usually keep them original.

Latest engine bay picture with some modifications done - CF2 manifolds, 84mm TB, battery in the boot...

EL front pipes manufactured by a local specialist. Actually the whole exhaust mod was invented by a friend who has now the first UK Autodelta 3.75 engine running in his GTA.

Custom made rear arms to support the PU bushes better than OEM steel sheet paperbacks. Beside this I have Eibach antiroll bars fitted together with "rigid collars" and B6 dampers. Overall gives a very good handling for a road car.

159 bought by my employeer as new. Using it privately as well and planning to buy it out after the leasing is over. Did not perform any modifications yet as it is not my car however DPF will definitelly come off one day.

Don't have many pictures of the 145. Bought it in Czech republic on a rainy day. Missed lot of bad sides of the car that day. Should have not been that eager and wait. Much better cars to be found in Slovenia. Anyway despite this it is a great handling little "sports" car. Really a lovely every day driver and the TS engine is fabulous. A friend of mine is racing with one like that and engine tuned to give some 240 bhp. Even without LSD passing some racing Porsches on a track on a rainy day.

Just bought me a "toy" to play with during long winter nights on Saturday. Still don't know what it will be good for and that the termostat is on the wrong side of the engine for the RWD cars. However could not resist for that price.

Thanks kevin.

Would love to say yes however the truth is I don't know. I have the feeling the throttle response is a bit better and it revs more freely. However I'm not driving the GTA that often. Planning to take it on a DYNO however won't have anything to compare as it will be the first DYNO and there has been many modifications done already.

Nevertheless my plan was to use 76 mm TB however 84 mm were much cheaper at the time. So went for a bigger one.

The biggest improvement was the CF2 manifolds and EL pipes though. It is now supported by a remap done by GUS from Alfatune UK. It was really worth the money. Power feel and sound wise.

Began welding the engine stand. Decided to make one with adjustable height. Not that it would be necessary just to amuse me a bit more and gain welding experience.
