Maurizio: Tell me, is the Spider still on the lift?
Mats, project lead ambitions..... ? I hear a similar question daily on my desk: is it finished!

Yes, spider is still prio 1, parts are coming in at the moment.

awareness note to myself: my employer/work is consuming to much of my time

I really managed to fuck up the timing this time. I was here the week before the guys and the week after. Didn't follow gtv6 site in a while since my alfa activity has been sadly low.

When I returned I remembered Maurizio should be here and sent him a mail before going mountain biking.
On the way I looked for NL plates but didin't see any. Just some odd plates on a 155 with a hairy guy next by.

Returning Maurizio told me Mats is still here and when we met I realized he was the one I saw. I tell you not much like his avatar

So nice meeting you too in person. Sorry for not waking up on time. I'll improve for next time. Maybe we can get the american and australian forces here then too...
I will probably be here 1-3 weeks still this year.

Anyway, new record on the ring - 57 minutes with a mountain bike

Haha, yeah I've been meaning to change that avatar... 8)

Found a picture that says it all about how modified my 155 really is, or in this case, isn't.

Looks like just after T13?
Check out the tire, I'm riding the protective lip right on the edge of the tire.
Impressive tires indeed, I actually like them a lot, Dunlop Sportmaxx TT.

They are just fine, some edges on the outer row of the tread is a bit worn as you would expect but the rest looks perfectly normal. The Ring is actually pretty easy on tires and brakes. My nerves on the other hand.... ;)

If i'm going back with this car I migh tconsider R-compound tires and bigger AR-bars... :)

A quite early lap, still going very carefully in some corners. :)
Better to build up confidence slowly on the Nordschleife.

I can just see it. If Kevin and me joined you bastards, you would expect us to drive upside down for sure ( not that we couldn't do it it mind you !)
We often move the pedals to the car roof, hang upside down and use a periscope for steering :Easy. :D :D

Just think Batmobile.

There is a new engine build, some suspension modifications, last winter, which of course potentially makes it faster

Another day at the Ring today... :D

This time with my little mule, the Saab 9-5 with 383500Km on the clock.
My girlfriend didn't even oppose for a second when I said we had to unpack EVERYTHING from the trunk including 60ish bottles of wine to do just one (1) lap. I think she enjoyed the lap too, maybe more then she would admit. 8)

In my book Spa is the secound best circuit after the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
So racing wise, yes Spa is better, because also other nice race stuff present:
Youngtimer Trophy (http://www.youngtimertrophy.de)
Alfachallenge
FHR Langstreckencup/HTGT (http://www.fhr-langstreckencup.de/ en http://fhr-online.de/cms/front_content. ... =74&lang=1)
STT H&R Cup (Spezial Tourwagen Trophy: http://www.spezial-tourenwagen-trophy.de/)
HMR (Historic Motor Racing)
Ferrari Challenge
Belgian Historic Cup
Cup und Tourenwagen Trophy/BMW Challenge
Kampf der Zwerge (fiat 500/600/850, mini's, nsu tts, small fast cars)
FFR/HRA (Formule Ford)
to get some idea of the dutch alfa romeo challange field:

Alfa wise, spectacollo is the Dutch alfa romeo event of the year.
It is a gathering of all kinds of alfa romeo owners, which just happens to be on a circuit and gives a change to drive on the circuit for everybody.
(depends on the year where it is held in the Netherlands: Zandvoort or Assen)

Dumb fantasy:

One day, we all ship our Alfas to Spa and drive in the alfaromeo challenge dutch series.

Seriously tempted, when I ship my 75 back to Malaysia, I may just have it stop in Nl or BE and have a go at that event. Would love to see our pals from the cold north and Sarf Africans also drive there.

BTW, Mats, there's that other Mats from Norway who drove his 200 bhp Alfetta GTV at Spa, so I'm assuming you can tow your car onto a ferry at Gothenberg all the way to Antwerp/Ostend/Gent

Ah well....just a dream......
