Well Ben Bishop just spent the weekend at mine on his way through to South Australia from Brisbane, and he let me know about the move!

His big Aussie Muscle car Falcon is looking quite nice!

As for me, well I have my 4.3:1 in finally, and what a difference it makes!!!

Instead of riding the torque and letting the motor pull the car through the long gears to 8200, it just SNAPS to 8200, hunting down the redline as soon as you flatten the accelerator!

I'll post some piccies up when I get home, and Im gonna try and get a couple of videos happening too!

Good to see we've got many of the oldies and some newbies on this forum too-

Most of you will know, but yeah, she was a 2.0, now an 11+:1 2.5 with big heads and cams, making around 200hp @ the wheels, and FINALLY with a 4.3:1 diff on hte back of a 75 3.0 box...

Good to See all the oldies have moved over!

Nice! Time to make some videos then... :D

Was it a tough job to fit the 4,3 rear end? Did you keep the LSD from the 3.0?

Yeah it wasnt straight forward- swapped the synchros while the box was out, and kept the LSD from the old diff (shimmed out etc), but now Im having a hard time getting the speedo to work, because its not an electronic sender anymore- apparently the guy is trying to get a hall effect sensor on it to try and make it work, but jeez it goes HEAPS better!

Ok? So basically you moved the diff to the 4.3:1 box?

Actually, I put the 4.3:1 Crownwheel and Pinion into the 75 3.0 box... which is where the speedo problems are...

I cant believe I put up with a 3.5:1 for nearly two years!

aaah...

So we seem to have the same problem then, lucky for me I have a spare TS speedo and a spare GTV speedo.
Gotta move my trigger for the tacho though, somehow I don't think it likes being fed the output signal from the MDS 6A.

Mats,

MSD makes a Tach Adapter to solve your tachometer woes. I had the same problem with the signal from the TEC and the MSD adapter solved it. I think it was US$40.

Well my VDO speedo accepted the 75 box's signal, but now Ive gone back to an older style sender (The diff and sender are off the 85 GpA car)... I think my mechanic is trying to get a hall effect sensor to work.. maybe by this weekend? Hope so....double demerit license points over Christmas if caught speeding!

Thanks Brian, Been through this crap before though on another car (which I won't EVER mention here  )
I'll try the tacho output on the MSD first, that might work. American junk
