center console

Post by x-rad »

Here is a pic I got off the net about 1 year ago (German?). For those of you not worried about a little weight gain, this little piece sure looks nice. Would look great covered in new paded black leather, maybe red stitched?? Few extra gauge pods, too. This one looks like plywood. I was thinking of a fiberglass over very thin ply(the fine plywood used in model boat making) or aluminum frame. Really beefs up the interior!!

It is from a German Grand Prix edition, maybe Switzerland and Austria aswell. I have a replica of one in fiberglass, looks WAY better then the standard console. Very bad fit though........ the original GP console wasn't such a good fit either from what I've heard.

I believe Enzo (also active on this board) has such a console aswell, maybe he can tell you more?

Hmm.....that console is indeed a german GP-part.

But here in Holland we also had such an console, not from AR itself.
But Savali (Sam van Lingen, dutch Alfa-dealer/tuner) had also such things in stock or made nearly identical ones.

A nice carbonfibre film applied correctly to that console would come up a treat!

Did it to mine, but with yours would look fantastic for i didnt have too much to work with

Might be hard to see, but after seeing same old interior for awhile, this livened it up abit...

I thought this company was interesting; they can custom coat any of the interior pieces, such as center console, for example, in any number of synthetic finishes, including burl, rosewood, carbon fiber, and so on. This sort of takes the fitment question out of the equation, more or less. I have no idea of cost, but I am going to call and inquire on Monday, and also see if they will send me a couple of samples in the finishes with which I have interest.

Thanks.
