New gear shift gaiter

Post by biker-linz »

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement leather gear shift gaiter?
Is there one from another car that will fit?
Would it be easier just to make one from scratch?
What about buying one for another car that is about the same size, then pulling it apart and fitting the leather over the 'hard' parts from the original?
Any ideas would be great.

The original one is vinyl.

You can get a original second hand one from Ebay.uk at the moment.

Ebay.uk also has after market leather one's which are made for '84 and up GTV6's.

I have just purchased a leather gear shift boot and handbrake gaiter from Highwood Alfa the UK, 15 pounds each. Chris is really helpful and you get a near instant response.Postage is really cheap too. They fit perfectly and look great.
