146/200 might be right. The std WRX loses 26ish% depending on what source you listen to.

Z,

It would be difficult to beat a WRX STi from a standing start. I have an original version V 2 door STi in stock form (which is lighter than the current STis), which produces 206kw and does a 0-100kmh in 4.9sec. Rolling start at above 100mph may be different but certainly at the lights, the alfa would not stand a chance to 100kmh.

What do US spec WRXs weigh in at these days?
I tried to convince my father that he wanted one, but he rejected the idea based on the WRX having bad fuel economy. I think he said something like 24mpg highway. I immagine that this is due to the awd system in part, but weight must also be a factor.
If 24mpg is the stated economy, then that is worse than my grandmother´s turbocharged awd volvo wagon. I didnt expect that from a compact car and I still dont understand it.

To answer my own post:

2007 STI, Curb weight MT 3351!
Fuel economy 19/25 mpg (most likely 15/21 with me driving)

The R32 weighs in at 3256 lbs. I would have thought for sure that the Golf was heavier. Anyway, if the VW is that heavy, maybe you have a chance. Make sure your alfa has less than a quarter tank of gas at all times, and go to the bathroom before you venture out. Maximize your advantage.

Beating a stock WRX and beating a stock WRX STi are two totally different things. Even the 03'-04' Cobra guys have respect for the STi.

Getting more than 20 in the stock WRX is difficult. And that's with ~70% of my mileage on the interstate. That's US gallons though, so make it 25ish for those that drink the big pints.

I am not talking about beating anybody, I was just surprised that the STI was so heavy. It looks so compact and efficient.

I dont figure into this conversation at all, I lose to everything at the light because I am afraid to abuse my car. I have had other milanos that asked for harsh treatment, but the one I am driving now feels like it might fall apart at any minute.
