Spotted...
Was up at Mt. Tamborine/Eagle Heights this arvo with the bikes and spotted a White South African 3l GTV6... whose was it? It's beautiful...
Re: Spotted...
I think it belongs to a guy who made a small appearance on this forum under the name GracianoR.
If it is, that car has a few parts in it that I removed from my car - rear seat belts, child restraint anchor points etc to meet local regs.
I never got to see the car but I know the engineer who blue plated it - supposed to be a nice car.

Re: Spotted...
Thats Graciano 's car. Its very origional . No dropping suspension etc. Daniel thats great you could hepl him. Hope he joins one of your clubs. I gave him DVD's of racing GTV3.0 l in the eighties. You should try get a copy from him. Absolutley entertaining watching the BM's, Mazdas, drifting all over the track while the GTV's were like on rails in comparison.
Re: Spotted...
Kevin,
I have a copy of that stuff. It's a real buzz. Our Club Convenor is screening it on some club nights for the gang..
(this is going to hurt)
Thanks South Africa..

We have two in WA.
Mine and Esperans.
There was a white one for sale recently in SA. I would have imported it if I new what was involved in importing a car from SA to OZ.
Thanks
John

Re: Spotted...
Kevin's race car topic seems to be heading down a path of discussion about colours of cars so I thought I might highjack that section and stick it here where it is more appropriate as it is not a subject about racing- I hope you guys agree.
..technically, white is not a colour
Colours and sports cars bring out some funny choices in people. Given that red is almost universally accepted as a colour that is extrovert, exudes passion, synonymous with speed, represents heat and many other examples that envelope the concept of fast cars like Alfas.
So with that background you would think you would think Alfa would have given you any choice of colour for your new car as long as it was red !! So have you ever wondered why people chose colours for their new Alfa like:
Mustard yellow.
Brown.
Aqua blue.
Maroon
Silver
Olive green
Cream
If you own one of these, I would love to know what the REASON was behind your choice.
Colours I left off the above list are Navy Blue and Black. These colours are heavy and solid suggesting power and class and I can see why some chose them. Exciting colours like yellow and orange (derrivatives of red)are fence sitters and can be very successfull in the "right"shades.

Re: Spotted...
well, we have a white car, a silver car and a red car - guess which one is the alfa and which ones are simply transportation...(although, the avatar might give it away a bit )
re the strange colours, there's no accounting for taste and car manufacturers will paint 'em if people keep buyin em

Re: Spotted...
Mike is there any other colour for an Alfa other than red?
My first GTV I had resprayed from silver to 'Ferrari Red'.The second GTV was blue but not by choice. My first GTV6 was Giallo Fly Yellow.I loved that colour but so did most flying insects oddly enough.
Let's face it,choosing to drive a Alfa already puts you left of center in most other peoples eyes,so go the whole hog and be extrovert about it.That's why mine is red and has one seriously loud exhaust note when the throttle get's buried...
