old New style old style tensioner

Post by x-rad »

Since I received zero replies on this and the tensioner question keeps popping up:

Now I know many of you have seen the bottom pic below. It is the newer style thermo tensioner but for the 24 valver. It has similar dimensions as the old style thermo tensioner but the pulley has a small belt guide and the pulley appears to be closer to the block than on the older version. Looks like a little grinding of the guide holes and it will fit. I am only working from photos.

Anybody try one of these on the older 3.0 blocks?

Are they made any better??

I rember trying one of those 24v units on the old block..was ages ago..If I remeber correctly,it did not fit straight up,secondly you needed a longer belt if you could get it in..
I stand to be corrected here though..
