Distrib/Oil pump pulley pulling.

Post by Dbeeson »

undertaking the third part of this 'seal replacement', what size of bolts are needed to be used to go into the two holes of the pulley in order to pull it? (hopefully not 7mm  )
Do you even need a puller to get this one off?
how do you guys recommend to take the bolt off? old timing belt trick? put two bolts in and lock it?
Thanks.
(by the way my engine no longer has an oil leak, but i found out my mechanical tensioner is no longer working, so im waiting on that part to get back on the road)

The tensioner would get set to have the two arrows lined up, then we pulled it forward in fifth, and one of the arrows jumped up and stayed there!!!!! did it twice. Also when we were pulling the engine forward im thinking its the tensioners fault, one cam pulley skipped a tooth or two

Alright, never mind....easiest seal out of all the seals. Gear locked with ease, pulled right off, took one screw in the seal to pull it out.

I took off my mechanical tensioner, and i found out the external spring has broken, thank god i didnt run the engine.
