twin spark Alfetta GT

Post by KingDom »

Can the twin spark engine from the Alfa 75 fit with clearance under the hood of a Alfetta GT (4 cylinder hood)?

Thanks,
Dom

Yes. They fit under everything other than a GT Junior Zagato and 105 series spiders.

Oh, i recalled someone on the alfa digest measuring it up and not having clearance on the 105 Zagato? Happy to be proven wrong... now would a 2.5 fit? :D

Yeah, but the spider i'd seen it done to needed a bonnet buldge to clear the cam cover/oil filler from memory?

Twin spark flywheel in Alfetta

Post by iachella »

Can the twin spark be dropped into the Alfetta with its own flywheel? In other words, are there any differences between the flywheel/driveshaft interface of an Alfetta (of late 70s era) and the twin spark? There was a sugestion to pull the flywheel off of the Alfetta and put it on the twinspark because of driveshaft issues. Is that true?

Thanks,
Stefano, Concord CA

Lighter? I have them both and haven't really seen any differance in weight, the TS one seems to have the weight further out though as the ring-gear is different.

Interface should be the same

Sweet indeed but doesn't look like a TS to me (might be wrong though)

Mats, the early Alfettas had a 10 kg flywheel. My -78 anyway. The newer ones I have are 8 kg I recall.
