I currently have a 166 3.0 engine in my girlfriends 155 V6, but this engine will go into a 155 racer project.
The original 2.5 engine needs some service like new belt and adjusting the valve clearance, when the engine is really hot you can hear the crank make a clock noise (don't they all!)
So this engine will need some work, this 2.5 is a great engine but it;s a big step back compared to the 3.0 24V.
I have the following engines laying around but they all have some mechanical failures.
164 3.0 24V cranck bearings, no valves
164 3.0 24V broken belt and damaged crank
155 2.5 12V damaged sump ( damaged crank and valves)
164 3.0 V6 12V 1 melted piston
75 3.0 V6 12V perfect condition.(spare engine for my 75 24V)
Could yo guys advise me on a good mix of parts from these engines.
3.0 12V with 24V pistons for 10:1 or 2.5 with 3.0 pistons (2..
3.0 with 2.5 heads (smaller valves)
V6 engine suggestions

Zamani actually it's our car but my girlfriiend and the kids use it as their dailey driver. Wanted to take the 75 to Spa but i'm still working on the 1.6 gearbox, didn't really matter cause the 155 is faster anyway
Too bad you don't know what the gta driver is saying, it's funny.

The 156 gta in de video is tuned by madeno racing and has LSD and thats exactly what the 155 is missing.
I'll have to check if the manifolds came with the engine

LENZ,
Is the 155 that much faster? Man your car really dusted his GTA. What did he say? I drove a GTA and it was quick, much quicker than 3.0 24Vs. Well I haven't driven a 3.0 24V with Squadra and 45mm runners, so maybe the difference is not that big. However the 6-speed does make a difference.
My bro is putting in a 3.0 V6 12V in his 155 V6 and I just bought a set of used cams (going to be re-profiled) to go in my 155 V6 (same color as yours hehe).
I saw a while race car being built (they put in a cage) on artc155.nl, is that yours?

The difference isn't that big, the other guy drove a sportwagon gta with a passenger, i was alone, so i almost had a 200kg weight advantage, on the other hand, his car is tuned by madeno racing (suspension, big brakes, LSD , claimed 275 bhp etc), so thats almost a 50 hp disadventage for the 155, my car is almost completly stock (except for the engine ofcourse and the intrax suspension set).

LENZ,
Why don't you combine the 155 2.5 V6 motor (sump, thermostat housing, exhaust manifold etc) and 164 3.0 V6 motor (block, heads, etc)? I have a few spare (used) 9.5:1 pistons I can send you (just pay the shipping). Shave the heads a little to get the compression above 10:1.
I have a friend who has a 156 3.0 V6 24V (2.5 V6 heads, 3.0 pistons and liners). I'm guessing his static compression must be pretty high. I am not sure if he relieved the heads a little to match the bore. In your case maybe the 3.0 block and 2.5 V6 head on SOHC engines would work too.
But why bother when you can have 3.0 everything and let Stephan work his magic on the ECU side of things.
