which brand dowpipes

Post by Maurizio »

My daily driver (V6) has a very crispy downpipe at the right side.
The pipes under the body are two at the lowest part and one on top of them. The downpipes have taken a serious beating over the years (from speed bumps and a too much lowered front :wink: ) and need to be replaced. The top part of the headers are still in great shape.
So who is the maker / sells these.

For clearance I would reshape/weld the new part to three pipes in the same plane. Other option would be: making a copy with standard exhaust tube parts and re-using the flanges..... (which looks at the moment as to much work for my daily driver).

Saluti,

Maurizio

Thanks, Z

Last time I spoke JimK he also thought it was shankle after the design description, but in the meantime forgot the name shankle.

Is shankle still around?

I don't believe Shankle still exists. I had a set similar like yours once, but decided to go for CSC. I probably still have the (badly dented) downpipes somewhere........ I could flex off the flanges so you can have a new set made. Don't know what's cheaper, having new ones made or me sending them to Limburg.

Hey you guys are all in NL, I think this company one for the RWD Alfa V6. Flat lower pipes too, unlike shankle.

I'm looking for options (low budget), its just for my daily driver, not the car I want to poor a lot of money in.

@D,
will see what the best option is and will let you know if i'm interested in the flanges. Shipping <10Kg is ~ 7.50 euro within nl, have sent ar-bars by tgp-post :lol:

That's almost exactly like the CSC without the flex pipe. Maurizio, why don't you call those guys and ask them if they can make this system with 42mm OD pipes and 48-50mm OD secondaries? That would solve a lot of problems!
