TS75 /TS155
I notice on a TS75 engine that there is variable valve timing device on front right camshaft? correct or not?. The 155 head is a much cleaner look for a TS conversion I want to do.
On my 155 TS head this device V V T is not there. Why was it changed and/ or was the V V T not available on the 155?. Do 155 's use the same head for various engine displacements assuming there is more than one diplacement. What displacements were availalble? Obviously the cams and related specs ie. valve sizes might be different. But what about other differences. Who has the insight here ?/ Mats? Please expound!

You will find that the distributor at the rear of the head on the exhaust cam will be a bit in the way when mounting the engine length-wise...
VVT was present on all 2.0 TS as far as I know.

Mats ,
You're saying that all TS came with V V T, Thx.
The 155 head is also a TS but how was V V T accomplished or was it done differently on the 155.? I will use an 8 wire distributor off the block. Right on about the exhaust cam driven distributor would be in the way when the normally sidewinder(transverse) 155 head is turned longitudingly.
Is there any electronic source for 155 shop manual to get an overview I don't want to invest in a lot of books to glean a little info. Any schematics of engine (exploded diagrams-parts )available?

No, I said that as far as I know all 2.0 TS engines have VVT.
Can you produce pics of your engine? I'm sure the VVT should be ot the same place as on the 75 TS.

More TS75 /155 TS
Mats ,
you wrote:" As far as you know....." no quibble here.
However, let me correct myself, I wrote : Right on about the exhaust cam driven distributor would be in the way when the normally sidewinder(transverse) 155 head is turned longitudingly.
I meant that my 155 head has no provisions for distributor drives as the 155 motor was all electronic with crank triggered ignition?.
The TS 75 has distributors at front exhaust cam drive, one on the right front side of block and a block off plate on rear of head(I assume one could be put here). See photos.
I have seen photos of 155TS engine with both distributors mounted off the head or was told this was the 155 layout ?. My 155 head shows this is not possible. This is why an 8 wire distributor off the block is used, if all electronic is not used. What gives?
You wrote: "You will find that the distributor at the rear of the head on the exhaust cam will be a bit in the way when mounting the engine length-wise... "which motor are you refferring to? Was there more than one 155 setup, early distributors, later all electronic ?
Does the 155 have V V T how was it accomplished?.

Mats,
Also, I was told 155 used ignition modules mounted remotely, this correct ? That's what I mean by all electronic, I think.
We seldom get to compare the European models, sorry for the trouble.

Now THAT was some interesting pics! Thanks!
I wonder if they changed anything internally (apart fron the obvious camshaft changes, that head must fit the old block right? Wonder if it runs wasted spark or if there is a cam-phase sensor anywhere.
Is that the where the thermostat housing fits at the back of the head? Got any more pics on complete installations? The VVT is obviously removed...

Yes please.
I have a TS engine in pieces myself but cutaway pics are very nice to have.
Have you seen any changes to the heads more then the obvious ones about the VVT and the distributor mounts?

Tnx.
"You'll definetely notice the major improvement over the 75 TS head!"
Heh, can you be a little more precise? What are the differences?
What head is that on the cutaway pics above? Looks exactly like the sections of the 75 TS head in my workshop manual.
The 155 heads are very scarce but the 75 heads are plenty, I can't just go get a 155 head and have a look myself I'm afraid.
thanks

Mats, the pics from Dennis are from a 75 head.....
Hmm found something interresting:
All the 155 TS (1.7, 1.8 and 2.0 8v) heads are the same... which are again identical to the 164 TS (my 1992 to 1997)
OK back to work boss comes in

They are the same pics, but I've bought a 155 2.0 TS head and compared it to the cutaway head and found they were identical. To my own surprise aswell!! So I took a 75 TS head and compared it and saw the difference. The inlets of the 155 head have a better angle.
