By the way, I just have a very quick question :

Now my 2.5 engine is near to be completed with 164 S type camshaft in it,
do I have to consider any change concerning injectors and/or fuel pressure
to make it run smoothly ?

Thanks for your reply and best regards to all of you.

No change in fuel pressure is required and you can use the gtv6 std (gray) injectors. I assume you still use the L-Jetronic system. If you change to Motronic, you will also need to change the injectors and use the std Motronic (yellow) ones -among several other important changes.

Hello to all of you dear V6 specialist,

As you know, I'm currently trying to swap the camshafts on my GTV6 2.5. (from original cam to S cam)

The job is nearly completed but I still have tremendous problem to get the timing setup done perfectly.
In fact, I can never get all the reference marks perfectly aligned and therefore, I have a question
in mind that I have to ask you :

Is it possible that the reference marks engraved on the "bridges" which hold the camshafts in place
(#3 and #7) can have different angular position depending on the camshaft type ? or are they ALWAYS
the same whatever the engine type is ?

In other words, can I trust the reference engraved on my 2.5 "bridges" or do I have to find specific
3.0 ones that would match S camshaft ?

I know, it seems to be a very strange question but only specialists like you will, for sure, understand
what I mean.

Thanks for your reply and warm regards to all of you.

I NEVER EVER trust the marks. You shouldn't either.

Measure the lift on the buckets directly and compare to crank angle.

Thanks Mats and 75evo,

So, if I follow your advice (what I will certainly do), where can I find the specs
of these famous 3.0 S-cams ?

I'm speaking about specifications which can be 100 % trusted, not fancy ones, of course !

By the way, it would also be nice to find specs concerning the 2.5 cams that were installed
in the engine when my GTV6 was new. (1984)

Who knows, perhaps you have it ?

Thanks and kind regards.

Billy

Try this link:

It doesn't have lift @ TDC which IMHO would be the easiest way to set it up. But it does give valve timing, so you can sort of figure out when the lobe starts to lift by checking the dial indicator and crank degree wheel.

Best is to ask Jim K on this.
