Re: New 24v ITB's

Post by yetyGTA »

Decided to go slightly different route and build own budget ITB kit using available parts. First "half" arrived today from Latvia (just a matter of luck, where they have them cheapest). They are from a Triumph 675 which as you can see is a three cylinder.

Nevertheless you can split them one by one and that is my plan. Internal diameter seems to be perfect - 45 mm which is almost the same as the OEM chrome intakes. My next step will be to drill the back to get a circle shape and weld the holes for injectors as they will go where they are now and not in the ITBs.

Just make aluminium plugs tot block the injector holes instead of welding them. Cast alu is not so easy to weld.

The outlet side is oval, I think the older triumphs have round ones. But it can be easily machined to round.

Some more pictures.

Will need to get the inlet pipe in S shape as the TB are quite wide.

Probably not that clear from the picture. But it is approximately 30° to go straight up.

I bet the alu will distort slightly and mess up the shaft...
Plugs + hammer. :)
