... how do they compare to standard 3 litre cams?

The specs that I have on file:

GTV6 Standard
intake 222@0.05, 9.1mm lift
exhaust 205@0.05, 8.9mm lift

3.0 Jetronic
intake 226@0.05, 9.7mm lift
exhaust 206@0.05, 9.2mm lift

3.0 Motronic
intake 230@0.05, 9.2mm lift
exhaust 214@0.05, 9.2mm lift

Motronic is the best option here. SZ cams may be different/better, but I don't have specs on them handy.

For the record, mine has the following, which are very similar to the fabled 10548s used to great effect in the 2.0 Nord:

Intake 234@0.05, 10.3mm
Exhaust 224@0.05, 10mm

This may not pass smog wherever you are, but makes for a fabulously torquey engine that will sing to whatever rpm you care to set your rev limiter to (mine is 6.5 as I am pretty conservative and that's fast enough).

This subject has been disputed several times, here and on the BB. 3liter Motronic cams are identical to SZ cams; they have the same part numbers, 60548163 and 60548164. These cams are used in the late 164, 75 and SZ/RZ.

It is true that I can't read specs when half asleep! :P 10.1/6.4 according to this:

Jim, perhaps your specs are actual 'measured' specs you've done? The above may be factory specs. :?:

Either way, I'll go with yours - I won't even pretend to know what I'm talking about in comparison!

:)
