Bent valve without belt slippage?

Post by Burger »

Is this possible on a cold start-up with the stupid thermal tensioner?I curse the day I did that mod.No 2 is clacking and it has fuel and spark-but it's not firing.

Check clearance on exhaust push rod as a possible source of your clacking noise.

If cam timing correct and belt did not split not likely you bent a valve. Run a compression test to see what you got.

Yeah, the compression test was my next step-I think I already know the results though.I think I'll revert back to the hydralic tesioner during the repair process;ordered a head gasket yesterday.

A little update, compression is 160psi across the board,Except no.2 which is 0.I stuck my telescopic magnet thru the spark plug hole and the piston is still there so I guess i must've overrevved? and bent a valve somehow.any thoughts?
