Cam seal pulling

Post by Dbeeson »

Having just gotten one cam pulley off, im trying to figure out ways to get the seal out.
Whats the best way?
A guy at Ital motors in edmonton recommended using a seal puller and heating up the seal.
Any other ideas?

Don what I did was screw 3 sheet metal screws equally spaced into the outer face of the seal (it's metal under there) and then used vice grips to grab the screw and pull by moving around the circumferance from screw to screw.

I second the sheet metal screw trick, works like a champ, try not to go to far in with them though.

Alright, thats what we did for the crank, and we drilled in two screws for this one so far, and both broke off inside, which kind sucks.

I'll go get some sheet metal screws, that might be my problem.
Thanks
