Guys,

Anyone know of a source for 2" (centerhole width) exhaust flange with a bolt-center to bolt center measurement of about 2.9" ? Can't find any here, and some shops are reluctant to cut only 2 flanges :?

In the meantime I'll still look around.

I might have something lying around, did cut a lot of flanges a while back, 2", 2.5" and 3".
The shipping would be a beatch though. :?

Z,

JC Shitney have them. Stupidly, they don't have the gaskets for them though. You have to make your own.

Look in their online catalog under exhaust tubing.

Mats,

What's the thickness? Shipping shouldn't be too bad actually.

Peter,

I have something similar to the Jcwhitney stuff. It's not very flat and doesn't seal that well.

8mm. May have gaskets too.

Is 8mm thick enough for downpipe use? Or will it warp? I think for N/A cars the exhaust temp won't get too hot. But I was told, anything close to the headers should at least get 3/8". But 8mm is closer to 1/4".

:?: Z,Dont you guys have anyone who can plasma cut or lazer cut flanges for you??

I have 3 co`s within 10km I can use.I find it incredulous that you cant have a simple thing like a flange made..

Maybe this is an bussines opportunity for a Sarf Efrican..........

Some are not willing, due to low quantity. I mean, I only need 2. Maybe 4. So they'll either charge a really high price (maybe US$50/flange) or a I'll have to wait around until they feel like doing it for less.

Yeah just called up a few places. Minimum order is $150. OK I guess if I need many flanges.

R200 is about US$33? That sounds good. Even if you ship me using regular mail (Another $10?), that would still save me lots of money. Anyway I just ordered pre-cut CNC mildsteel flanges from www.spdexhaust.com (you can download the catalog and pricelist from their website). Cost was $18/each and I need to modify it slightly. The bolt center for the SZ manifold is about 2.9" while the flange I ordered were 3". I just need to file it a bit.

The cheaper flame cut flange doesn't seal too well. I've been replacing gaskets on my downpipes many times already. It sucks. I'm also going to put on thicker gauge (16g) downpipes. Last downpipe cracked (cheapo 18g).

BTW, Barry, for your flanges, what do you think about cutting a slight recess for the "female" type and a slight "lip" for the "male" type. This means they can fit without needing gaskets?

Just remembered that "my guy" is down in Kosovo in green clothes at the moment so forget me.

Z: Just make the flanges so they can slip over the pipes then let one pipe stick out a bit and the other recessed inside the flange.
You probably need a gasket anyway though.

Against head? 2.5 or 3.0? 12 or 24v?

I have a 2.5 12v coming up, I'll post some info here when done.
