Joemart you certainly made us proud today . Great to see the GtV been driven on its limits through those sweeps. It was well calculated to finally make the fourth passing move stick with that cobra . Very funny to watch from the side all the hard work done in the bends and then the cobra to pull away again on the straight . The crowd cheered when you outfoxed him on the last lap :D
Those Porsche 928s did not even come close . Great sound , great day - well done :!:

So... Kevin... u chose a good time to leave racing.... we had our first event and the 2nd race was actually a water skiing event - BUT, I am jumping here...

I took my car into Dawie to get head done / ported, skimmed and was planning on doing cams, but it turns out I have the "longer" cams???? so thta was not done!! :(

I must Dawie is a as always a genius.... (see pic of Dyno Graph below)... remember, 2000mt above sea level in JHB..

Anyway, took car out on Saturday for FIRST time in quali and I was give a STERN warning by Dawie that I had to break into the 1;16.9 for a competitive time.... My fastest was in the previous events and PB was a 1:17.6 but average of 1;18.2 in race... So the pressure was on

Qualifying went well, could feel the difference quickly, LOTS of low down torque, but tyres were now old (1 year) and they were not good... PLENT of mid corner push (understeer).. will post video later, when I can upload - Eventually qualified in a 1;17.4... I was PLEASED!!!!!

BUT, I had a challenge - HAD to break into the 1;16's or else I would feel seriously embarassed - (you DO NOT let Dawie down!!!)

So, first race is up, I quali 4th fastest time, --- Dawie tells me that I need to accelerate earlier in turn 2 "dont worry, the car will not spin... floor it....PRESSURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

So, out we go..... (see attached time sheet)....I get 3 really good clean laps, where I can lap fast and chase a guy ahead.... :D ... AND I accelerate hard earlier (and no spin 8)

BUT at the same time I am driving HARD... i HAVE SOMETHING TO PROVE ( )...

outcome.... 3 laps consistently 1:16.5 - AND to top it (though Jose in the Turbo was DQ, and he suddenly found his "MOJO:  1.13's!!!!!!) I WIN first race...

So, thanks Dawie, thanks Bernard for support and help at the track... 8)

PART 2 to follow

Looks like I escaped just in time
One thing claiming 20kw extra on dyno but actually seeing it proved on the track is another. Now can you imagine if he managed to do cams , find bigger intake runners ( rink yours are 38 mm OD). I saw those ported heads before I left , they looked amazing .
They say every 20 kw is a second at swartkops . Last time I tried getting on power really earlier in turn two I did tank slappers for 300m . Gonna have to call you schumi from now .
Jose is now in 1.13 with the 12v twin turbo - makes a difference when his upside down lower ball joints are actually tight and not half falling out :D . I Jose and I would behaving some serious door to door driving .
I see new owner of my old race car now has red stripe . I'm glad colour scheme was changed . He did good time for first time out at 1.18 with the 12 v motor . ( I notice he is running car under his Sud number)
Joe if you widen rims their are no tyres in SA unless the South American full slicks . Dawie has a set to test . Hytech in arode can do widening at 2000 a rim . Call Craig and ask for q .
