Well hell, I could spin that up in the lathe at work...no problemo dude, but what is the cover from....or, how do you make up the difference in the mount flange hight with the stock cover?

BTW; if I know what I can get away with I'll lighten and fix things as soon as I get into the driveline and box.

mats.

.."larger journals" is something I quickly grabbed to describe the coupler between the diff. output shaft and the rear half shafts. I still can't find a correct discriptor for them. The V6 uses bigger bolts. Hope that gets you sorted.

I must say it is gratifying to see so many contibutors fired up with intersting data that is very useful. It's been a while since I have seen this section cookin' and at the moment, it seems lots of guys wanna go racing.. great !! Barry's gonna need a life extension to 112 just to get through the back orders !! haha (onya Bazza.)

Micke I want to particularly thank you for your contributions, just great. I am not suprised about the life of your 2litre "rear end" as I always thought that it was good enough for a least 200 hp. Why fit all that V6 guff if you dont need it on a 4 banger? Spot on man !

Keep it coming lads, everybody's learning here. It's what makes this site king of them all for trannies.

Speaking about durability of parts it's good to remember that HP produces heat but doesn't really brake things. Torque does. Thus, as long as you don't boost, you'll be OK with the lighter stuff. If needed, cooling must be added.

Cooling is quite important I believe, it gets real hot in there.
