I wish we had known about the remote start/stop before coughing up $65 for it  However, once sorted it is quite convenient, particular if you have a hard time reaching the DL1 box when fully strapped in. At this point I'm quite happy with the DL1. I'm just at the beginning stages of learning to use the analysis software, but I can already see the potential benefit from this system 8)

For the same reason (of not being able to reach my camcorder) I bought a LANC single button remote video start/stop, power on/off with status LED for my Sony camcorder - works flawlessly :D Made by a Swedish company. I can now turn the camcorder on/off and start/stop recording when fully strapped in :)

Mats,

Nope, didn't use the remote switch. Their forum has lots of that question asked too. I knew that was trouble. Imagine missing a whole session's log because of a glitch. Actually I missed the whole of last weekend's sessions because I just couldn't get it to work.

Yesterday it was weird. Sometimes when I pressed the log button on the dash, the green LED would not turn on like a few days ago.

Tonight I'm going to check my firmware. My DL1 is mounted at the ashtray, so I don't need the remote switch. Total waste of $65, especially since it doesn't work!!!

So tonight I will:
1-Take note of firmware (but don't update yet since it sort of works now)
2-Try logging by pressing the button and not by trigger speed.
