Yep, as per covered in the thread, waaaay too long... and no where to run the shift mechanism from.SydneyJules wrote:Kev that is nuts.... what sort of gearbox? Nice suspension
In my beer-influenced moments I tend to wonder what a 75 V6 transaxle mounted directly to the engine would be like in the back of a sprint. Probably too long.

Jules good to hear from you again. This 155 is up and running without gear linkage. Going to be made this week. If you look in the bottom corner of the last pic of the155 there is a 24v tt motor with the sump off. It comes out off a gtv drag car. It ran bearings from the oil surge on pull off(major g's on this car). Will keep this thread up to date. By the way the GTV drag car is also pretty awsome. Quicker than any production Ferrari at the moment.(not enzo or FX).

Hey Kevin,
Some great reporting there buddy.
I think having a crack at these types of projects for the sheer fun of it or for more serious reasons makes us all better engineers for having a go and we learn a huge amount along the way. How much are you going to learn if you never have a go?
One hopes the effort produces the goods but in the end it was a great ride anyway you look at it don't you think?
BTW:Can you follow through with the question from Jules about the box please. Thanks mate.

Hahah Yeah MD! Kev- that was almost like a direct question dodge! What type of box is the 155 running!? Also- What times the GTV running with what sort of box setup!? Anymore piccies? PMd you too Kev.
I think the best bets for a mid mount GTV6 are transverse from a 156 2.5/3.2 or GTV 3.0- and of course, cant forget the mandatory forced induction! A blown 3.0 of Single turbo 2.5 would be machines- cut the floor out from the base of the rear seat plateau through to the boot, to create a big hole, brace with tube framing, engine mounts off tube framing, and suspension too.
But if you get to that point you as well build a sport sedan, on a 3.5 SOHC Turbo and a hollinger 6 speed, by which point in time the front suspension is useless, so you go to custom inboard shocks etc and then its too heavy so you end up with a carbon/glass guards etc. No. That path's silly.
Get good tailshaft made up using BMW M5 V8 gear, Good driveshafts and a straight cut gearset, and Suspension wise, the track widths are completely out of whack for GTVs, but some jap stuff off an MR2, RX-7 S-6/7/8 or R32/33 like A Arms and links would possibly sit nicely with a frame welded off the floor .
Couple with a 1.8 turbo or twinspark boosted to 400hp and with RS racing front susp and it's on for young and old when that thing gets going.

That box is an Audi model 012 5 speed
As per the GT40 replica guys. (let me rephrase that, as identified by the GT40 guys in this thread: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-tech-po ... saxle.html )
Its not the transaxle they use, not really up to a 5l v8.

The 155 is coming on. saw it run today. alot of stuff is still temporary just to get it running like the rear radiator. The cage will be completed next week to hook up gearbox mounts. All gearbox shifting points are all going to be rose jointed but this is still temporary.

Something I prefer. This was South Africa's fastest Alfa until the owner replaced it with an Ultima using a tt 24v 164 motor. This car has been standing for a few years but now it is slowly been restored. Its looking dull as the polish has not been buffed yet. Got 12v TT motor, major boost, 6spd getrag up front. It shares the same wide body kit as the other one I posted earlier. It has completed a few laps in the neighbourhood and will be track ready soon. This is my ultimate 'ferrari' project. It does not get faster, tyres cant get wider, brakes cant get bigger, gerabox cant be better, But it can get lighter.
