500 Hp twin spark brewing.....-Barry

Post by Barry »

My mate Franco has had brain fade..again !
He is revamping the old GTV racer to go "scare" some of the big boys here as he says.
Sooo,we are trying some different things on the old 400hp base engine I did 15 years ago..
Franco came up with a very novel dry sump system that we hope will work well...
So far the car has been stripped and rebuilt in anticipation of the new power plant.
Ill update as we progress..

Franco races in our premier race series here..the big Wesbank V8 series.
These cars are from Rousch (Spelling?) racing in the states, basically Nascar chassis but made to go round corners both directions !!
They use a 4 speed race box in these..Franco found some special short ratios from a car imported years ago which will give 90Km/h in first , 140km/h in second , 190km/h in third and 230km/h in fourth..

The long ratio set in the v8`s give 140km/h in first , 190km/h in second , 260km/h in third and 305km/h in fourth..This is way too long for the little Alfa though..
As a backup he has the original Getrag 5 speed race box from the Ford Saphire Cosworth as raced here ..obviously all front mounted.

That's some serious fabrication work for the foward subframe. It looks great.

Is there a good reason for turning the LCA upside-down instead of making a new one?

Might be the autodelta lower A arms they didn't want to loose, if they are light weight?

These are the proper Autodelta Aluminum LCA`s..This is how they are.. 8)

Just a pic of the mono and the "pegs" used to pin the sleeve so it does not bulge under high boost..
We would have liked to have made a cradle ala Honda ..But alas,no...
