Fire suppression system

Post by ar4me »

I'm planning on putting in a fire suppression system. I want a system with electrical actuation as opposed to manual pull. I have been looking at the SPA technique, 4 liter, electrical actuation, with alu bottle:
http://www.spatechnique.com/product_pag ... E400-A|125
and the Sparco, 4 liter, electrical actuation, also with alu bottle: http://www.sparcoracing.com/Sparco-Fire ... -p140.html
The SPA may come with 6 nozzles as opposed to 4 with the Sparco, but the Sparco may have larger diameter alloy tubing (one shop claimed it would make a difference in release time). Both systems use the AFFF chemical: non-toxic, non-corrusive, bio-degradable, ... List price of the Sparco is higher, but in practice I can probably have it for same or slightly less.

Any thoughts on issues to watch out for?

I already spent the big bucks on a HANS device, and the fire suppression system is another must have safety feature for me. If in bad luck a little handheld home extinguisher is not worth much...

PS. Can't get the freakin codes for URLs to work...???

Fixed for Jes. Note to other users. I will not edit posts other than when users complain of problems.

Edit: I think the pipe character is the problem. Regular expression issue?

Anyway, back to original topic.

Yeah, well, I guess my wife still thinks I'm worth more alive than charred    A few years older, she is probably concerned I'm not quite capable of the same exit speed through the window  How do you think she let me buy a HANS device?

Joking aside, no one with fire suppression system in their car and some experience to share?

Your right bud,a lot of us take this for granted..a puny extinguisher on the passenger footwell gives a lot of balls..

Good to see you doing it properly..and sorry,no experience with this..
