And the "out" pipe is pointing forward? Probably will never be an issue but still. :)

Yes that's a must. I'll be installing lo press pump in the place of the original efi pump. As for the heat, I hope that thermal wrap should help a bit.

Me again. For the record I didn't make/design that tank :) The internal diameter of the outlet (to the efi pump) is 6mm whereas the pump inlet itself is 10mm. Should i bore that out or it will be ok?
thanks

Few pics of the low pressure pump (0,24bar 75l/h), still waiting for the new efi pump.

Well it's 12:30 AM here and ...

Honestly I didn't think she was going to start - i mean there ALWAYS has to be something, add to that a 164 alternator conversion - something really had to go wrong.

Ok so final checks, few looks at terminals on new pump, back into the car. First i cranked it for 20 sec to make sure that the surge tank and EFI pump was primed. Everything's connected I turn the key, one rev of the crank... second... third... cylinders one after another fire up and maintain stable idle! After 4 months!
runs smooth, revs excellent. I just need to hook up pressure gauge to monitor how it really works - so far 15 mins of running and everything is good.
Unfortunately theres a micro fissure on one of the welds on the surge tank - will need to fix that.
Heres the pic of still mock set up, but hell it works :D
Test drive next week, ill let you know how it performs in battle mode

Are you going to insulate the swirl pot at some point?

Just thought I'll post pics of finished setup. Thermal shielding still to come... Test driven the setup and 100% satisfaction so far :D

Painted the tank jet-black, looks almost stock, huh? :D

I even made 'surge tank warning stickers' to avoid unnecesary questions during MOT

Hey, guess my last post in this topic  But I guess that now after the setup has finally beed tested in track conditons it was designed for, the story should be complete. So NO PROBLEMS setup worked 100% :) , finally I could put the power to the asphalt on exits of long/hard right corners, and say bye-bye to the quattro's behind me
cheers,
Pete
