75 Imsa Tubolare vs 147 gta cup

Post by LENZ »

pretty amazing video, imsa tubolare having problems keeping a 147 cup behind. Track was still wet at certain places, so 147 has the advantage being a fwd car, 219hp vs 296 hp. Both cars are 2.0 16V, 147 is the cup engine ts 16v, 75 has got the 155 STW 2.0 16V engine.

Hey Lennart how you doing . Did they touch in that last corner or was it just sound of the suspension bouncing of the kerb.
Cheers

The first post state that it has a 155 BTCC engine (SuperTouring) i.e. ~300hp Natually Aspirated. Put the wrong gearbox on it and it will be slower then my GTV... 8)

Wrong gearbox and it might be almost as slow as your GTV

I'm ok, except for a broken hip  , so my 155 raceproject will have to wait a little longer. Sold the 75 24V and all of my money  is now going into my racer, hoping to stay ahead of the transaxles.
I'm not sure if they touched, sounds that way. Wasn't there unfortunatly.
A 156 Stw ahead was 4 seconds faster each lap than these 2 cars.
Definetly not the wrong gearbox on this special 75, but it can be a bit tricky in the wet
It's got all the special parts and tubolare bodywork, but it cannot keep up with the 155 STW cars

LENZ,

Didn't know you were in some sort of accident. Hope you get well soon.

BTW, what racer did you buy? 156 Gp. N ?

I'm looking around for a truck to tow my semi-race 75 to the track.

Not a racer yet, i'm building my own.
Sold my 75 TS project and bought myself a 155 V6 with a damaged engine. I'll be using a 3.0 24v, 6 speed, Q2, coil over, etc., still love those btcc 93 days, it won't be as fast as those cars but i'll give it a try.
Fell off a ladder while putting slicks into a tire rack :(

Wow Lenz, going all out!

This racing stuff is expensive. Well I hope you already have a trailer + truck to tow it around. But in NL, you'll probably be OK with a TDI car as it's pretty flat :) .

Last event after I mounted my semi-new semi-slicks (A-048) I managed to flat spot 1 due to a stupid mistake, and that was only in a Time Trial.

I wonder how much it would cost to get a Grp N. 156? I saw some ads a while ago and it was around Euro 15K. I wonder if that is still true.

I've seen 156 challenge cars for 7000 euro's, the 147's go for a lot more.
Haven't seen them under 20.000 euro. They however are considarably faster.

I allready have the cherokee and trailer, the 155 was suppost to be a budget racer, but it allready cost me a fortune and i haven't yet drivin it for 1 single meter.
Something like Kevin's gtv, starting off with a relatively standard racer and in a very short time allready fooling around with expensive engines and suspensionparts :)

I think we should start a new thread of garage accidents because its actualy pretty funny when you think about how many times you have nearly wiped your self out doing something unsafe. Lenz im sure youre not laughing because you thinking you are actually pretty lucky that its only a hip.
Anyway back to your car. As you start building you keep thinking wouldnt it be nice to do this then that, and the next thing you have blown the budget twice !! Very rewarding in the end.
