now some of the turbodelta bonnet my dad and i made 8)
20 years ago he made this louver press, and has since been punching louvers in hot rod and custom bikes and cars. mainly bonnets but sometimes body pannels aswel. after seeing the turbodelta bonnet we thought we should copy it because it looks good, is unique and lets hot air out :)

the original louvers are spaced closer together and smaller, but we dont have a tool that size so this one will do. because the tool is a bit bigger the lovers cover more area, this was just a test, the next bonnet will have less louvers to make it closer to original 8)

a few more pictures, this time of my 83 GTV,
this car has gtv6 interior, simmons fr16 wheels, konis all round, lowerd/stiffer springs in the rear, volvo 4pot calipers and rotors, the motor has cams, ported head, hi-compression, extractors, stainless exhaust.
i drove it at mallala our local track in south australia, it was my first time driving around the track so only took it easy and practiced my lines :D

well im sad to say nothing has happend since the last post :(
but.. i have bought a 75 twinspark, witch will give the TS engine, gearbox, 5 - stud hubs and brembo brakes.
so instead of turboing the nord as i originally planned i will be adpating the manifold to the TS engine instead.

just a few questions...

- i would like to change the car over to 5-stud, can i simply use 75 front uprights along with hubs on a alfetta gtv wishbones?

- can i also swap in the whole transaxle and dedion from the 75 into the gtv?

- ive read somewhere that a 75/milano steering rack has a shorter steering ratio then a gtv and be used without the powersteeing pump if its greased, is this true?

- are the 75/milano suspension componets bigger than standard gtv's? as in stub axles, sway bars, upgrights ect.. ?

- is there anything else i should keep off the 75/milano ??

- i also need a CAD drwaing of TS exhaust flange. any one got one?

As far as brakes and De Dion, the answer is yes, i've done that to my Giulietta 1.6
Torsion bars I don't know, I know for sure they are shorter than alfetta and giulietta's.
The rest is bolt on :D

as per the dutch guy in jim k's book, i will turbo the twinspark on its standard compression and engine and run low boost, 10 psi max. this will give me a decent boost in power and keep the cost down a bit.

i have seen some images of 2 differnt twinspark turbo engines that still retain the motronic AFM and obviously the full motoronic system. im wondering if i would be able to run the engine on the standard motronic but with a turbo set to about 5psi obviously this is far from ideal and an aftermarket system should be used, but it will allow me to set up the intercooler, exhaust, plenum, piping ect.. and then when i have some more spare cash buy and install a haltech or autronic ecu. any thoughts on this? i know greg gordon has succuss with supercharging the v6's on l-jet...

The l-jet is probably easier to tinker with... :wink:

The biggest problem you have with the Motronic is that the ignition is controlled by the ecu and on the turbo engine you want less ignitionadvance when boost comes on. A piggy-back ignition computer could easily solve that offcourse but in my eyes that is money down the drain. On the l-jet you have an advancemechanism you can play with. :wink: The dizzy on the TS is just a housing for the rotor, there is nothing else inside there.

Setting the airflowmeter-flap-spring a little tighter and fitting bigger injectors works on both engines. That way you can get more fuel in the engine.

You know what the best option is; haltech/autronic... :D Having the Motronic chipped by someone who knows what he is doing will also get you good results. :wink:

But if you get yourself a good AFR measuring device you might be able to keep it in one piece. :)

yes i agree, it was only a thought but ideally as you say a aftermarket system should be used in the long run.
i picked up a garrett t28 ball bearing turbo from a s15 sr20det today, for cheap and its in near new condition :mrgreen:

as i also have a interest in japanese cars, especially nissans, i have wondering about fitting the harness from a ca18det onto the TS, aftermarket ecus are avalible as direct plug ins to the nissan harness and can be re-mapped to suit the TS, the ca18 uses a cam sensor which could be mounted where the TS dizzy normall is, the rest of the sensors are pretty easy to adapt. the only real concern is the spark plugs as the ca18 uses 1 plug per cylinder and the TS obviously 2 plugs per cylinder. im wondering if its possible to wire another (dummy) coil pack in series into the ca18 harness (the ecu will think its firing one plug but infact its firing 2) anyone know if this would be possible?

its only playing with ideas, but when i can get a ca18 loom for next to nothing it might be worth a shot...

i will start to wreck the 75 ts in the next few days so will shortly have some pictures of the turbo and manifold bolted up to the ts. and maybe some of the new inlet plenum as well 8)

I believe there is some nissan dizzycap you can use on a modified Alfa dizzy, that way you get 8 sparkplugwires on one dizzy. :wink: Is done mostly for 105 TS conversions where there is no room for the dizzy on the cilinderhead.

thanks evo, :) i aware of that conversion, even have the rotor and cap sitting at the workshop, but it doesnt really solve my problem :lol: well maybe it might, i can remeber but does the 8 lead nissan cap required 2 coil packs? or just one?
what i need to know is if 'a' wiring harness can be modified to have 2 individual coil packs wired in series with the loom, meaning the ecu thinks it firing one and operates as normal but its actually firing 2 coil packs (for each cylinder) thus firing the twinspark. or am i just crazy? i dont know :mrgreen: but i guess the only real way to tell is to try....

The Nissan cap has two plugs for the coils so i'm guessing it uses two coils.. :wink:

The bosch electronic management systems like Motronic send a signal to the coil negative, what would happen if you connect two coils i don't know... trying is always the best way to know for sure. :lol:

thought id show a picture of the stainless steel surge tank / swirl pot i made,
its made from large diameter tubbing, with 2 end caps with, a base and a top which is pressed to form a dome. and the barbs were turned on the lathe, then all welded together. then the welds were lineshed around the top to smoth it off, im pretty happy with the result. it should hold about 1.5 liters.

the next thing i will make is a oil catch can and an inlet plenum similar to 'mats'design. man i love stainless 8)

im just wondering, does anyone know of a car that has a electronic fuel pump and uses a carburetor? i need a pump that puts out about 5-7 psi to lift the fuel from the tank into the surge tank...

Any fuel pump for an American car should do. Ie not a pump for webers, etc. They sell them here in the aftermarket for around 50-75 dollars retail. Facet makes a good one too, just watch which one you get because they make low ~ 3psi and high ~7 psi pumps.

i was hopping i could buy a second hand pump from a wrecker as it would be a cheap option, but i think ill just buy a facet pump from my local speed shop, would a pump that pumps 5 psi be adequate?

a picture of the stainless manifold, fits a treat, ill just need a twinspak exhaust flange drawing! so i can get a flange laser cut and weld it up! please, someone out there must have a drawing, or cad drawing that they could scan and send to me?

the sensor on the side of the block, that is just above the oil dip stick, whats it for?
