Re: IMSA 75 detailed pics (original factory car) at Swartkop

Greg, the guibo doughnut is an alfa part with the same coupling cage i use . The prop is a new addition to the car which means he did have issues in the past. I did get to drive the car and can tell you that it rattles like hell under 1000rpm from the rear cv. After that there is not a sound. The mechanics that came out with the car were worried about this and thought there was something broken. I realised these mechanics were just part of a team that serviced the cotsworth and the porsche 917 from same team so got them to calm down and told them this was normal. All the mechanics do that come out with cars is to change tyres , bleed brakes, put in fuel , change spark plugs. Anything else then its send car back to Netherlands. The car ran a closed loop motec which was bad idea with our fuels. They went through two lamda sensors to get car running properly. Main reason why we dont run closed loop. Our racing fuel here plays havoc with lamdas on aftermarket ecus.
By the way these mechanics could strip and assemble a csl bm in no time , so it all depends what team is sent to manage these cars when they race in foreign countries.
The gearbox is another story. Its a lot broader. I have to find one. Anyone know ?

Colotti perhaps?

There is also a (fake)75 IMSA fitted with a Hewland transaxle from some Ferrari racer in Holland, maybe Harmen van Putten can tel you more about it.
Drive it like you stole it...

Will drop Harmen a mail. Must say he learns a ciricuit very quickly . His car had totally the wrong ratios for our Swartkops track which made it very difficult for him to keep boost up through our hairpin turn. He did a 1min 9 sec , which he could have dropped to a 1min 6sec. I am six seconds off his pace in my 3.0 24v race car. Not sure yet with my 3.7. Probably slower as its been ages since driven on circuit.

Note the gearlinkage runs inside the car and goes directly into box.
