The creator of the last 155 twin turbo midmount decided he needed a new project but this time its gonna be a serious track contendor in our open series to take on the Gotech BMW turbos which are push over 450kw on the wheels.
Watch this build. Note engine mounts are gonna be attached to front rack/crossmember.

Guys feel free to comment as the owner still does not know whats easiest supension to put in , easiest way to remove engine, create front end stability through bracing . Looks like its gonna be dedion rear again or if any one has a easier option. There is access to all bmw spares

There used to be a website with a 155 rwd 24v on it.
http://www.grupposportivo.net/AlfaRomeoS3d6.htm
I love the shape of the 155 but hate the FWD, you guys are builkding it like it should be build.
rear axle from a 155 Q4 would be my bet. quite easy to fit since it is practically the same as the original 155 axle. Lancia Dedra Integrale has the same axle. Just use a bmw diff.
The bmw zf gearbox is a very strong box, good choice for sure. What are you gonna do for a clutch? I wouldn't mind getting such an adapterplate to fit that gearbox...
Easiest would be modifying the front subframe so that the engine mounts to that and you can take it out as one unit. front suspension could be retained, just need to take the cv-joint of the driveshafts and keep using them in the hub to keep the bearing together.

To be honest, i have never done this set up so will find out. Probably sooner though as im not sure how many gearboxes im gonna go through with my race car. Wish i could get my hands on a box from that IMSA 75. I am actually copying this adaptor as we lost it on our cad file. I will send you copy as soon as im done.

Hi Kevin, you didn't by any chance find time to make the adapter yet?
I'm starting a quick v6 conversion on an Alfetta sedan in a few weeks and i'm going front mount gearbox on it
. I've already made the rear diff arrangement to use a BMW 188 diff and i have a 325i M50 gearbox ready for it.
If you have a drawing for me that would be great and if not it's too bad, then i'll have a go at it myself.
Hardest thing would be to make sure the gearbox is in exactly the right spot, centering the gearbox i mean.
Any progress/pics on the 155 ?

Giuliettaevo, my mate put his motor in before I copied it as I was in such a rush to get my car ready for the race as well. There is another spacer lying under a huge pile which we will look for . I will let you know by Tuesday this week

No joy to find adaptor as that one in the pic was last one. However I will pass by glen wood this weekend to drop off front bumpers so will ask if any there.

Any chance the owner will come on here himself, or maybe on the 155club forum to share his project and the previous one? The RWD one is quite the mythical car in 155-land.

whizzman , he was on the forum long ago but will get him to rejoin . Its gonna be a long project but here are some more pics. Plan is getting engine as far back as possible like in the DTM. Rear supension is in but from here planing of shock point etc starts.
Ps check out the rims on the gtv in backround
