Well boys, my first Race video in the Giulie...

Still with the 1.6, i'm changing mechanics to finish up the V6 transplant, the current one is taking too long for my taste..

Please pardon the minor bodywork details, I didn't make it on time and i'm working some mechanicals issues with an overly rich mixture that seemed to be caused by too much fuel pressure..

I only watched the last one. You could feel from the video how the tires were getting worse lap after lap. Your lock up after passing that 164 in the last lap of the last race made him really back off.

Also, in that last race how did that red Bertone GTV pass you so easily? (No insult intended!) I wouldn't expect it to be that much faster in a straight line unless it is in another (more highly modified) class. Just shakes my faith in the Alfetta GTV a bit.

Funny, I ask myself the same question every time I see the video.
Same class, supposed to be the same engine but obviously there are a few differences...
Notice how I pull away slightly at the exit of the chicane but then it's just a whole different ballgame.

The owner has a few abarth 128's as well. His son has taken over racing after the last gt was written off in a huge crash.

Here's some footage of the Phillip Island first week end of racing of Alfas from around Oz. If you look hard, you can see a battered Brick with a makeshift fiberglass bonnet almost floating in the breeze. Got repaired from some recent damage just in time for this event. It's also running a street engine as the race motor was not finished in time. Anyhow...

Here's start of our last 6h race at Alastaro Circuit. The qualifying set us to 14th position of total 40 cars. In race we got one stop&go and the fuel went short 4min before the end, dropping us to 12th on overall race. As you can see, It's quite difficult to overtake those 2.5l bimmers, especially the E36's with 24V engines with our old 8V Twin Spark.

Very nice Kimmo! Your 75 is much better in all types of turns. In the slow turns, you can brake later and your turn in looks to be much sharper, in the fast turn you hold the line better and there is less drift compared to the E36. You are maybe about 20 bhp down from the E36 325i?

The power difference is more than that, but there's also minimum weights depending on engine displacement. Our minimum weight is 960kg, as those 2.5 liters must be over 1050kg. Some of the E30's are with 2.7-liter, which weight is 1070kg. E30 12V versions have typically 200-210 hp and the E36 24V version 10-20 hp more, I think. To get same power to weight ratio than 210hp 2.5-liter car, we should have 190hp on our 2-liter engine. So we are 20hp short then, just as evo75 thought. And yes, the driver THINKS he's really pro, as always
