Copper gasket

Can I just buy a thick sheet of copper maybe 1/8" and cut holes in it and use it as my CSC 3-hole gasket? The Mr. Gasket composite gasket sheet is useless as the lack of fire rings around the holes mean that it will blow through in no time.

Most people don't use gaskets to join top/bottom of CSC nor are they meant to. Both surfaces should be perfectly flat, if not, sand them down until they are -use sandpaper wrapped around a flat block of wood and you'll do a great job. If you insist, you can use a dab of exhaust paste, the kind that hardens rock-hard with heat.
On my 24v ss headers no gaskets, no goo and they seal great without leaks.
