Milano Basket Handle Parking Brake to Conventional Handle ?

I would like to make use of the well blocked by the oh-so-stylish Milano basket handle parking brake. Has anyone made a conversion to a standard type of handle ? I've got to replace the parking brake cable anyway so it'd be nice to make the conversion then.
Thanks,
Merril

Make use of what? That handbrake is what makes the huge box possible... 8)

You must be thinking about the box under the arm rest there Mats. I was thinking about the area ahead of that storeage area, the well where one's knuckles go when grasping the basket handle parking brake. I'd rather use it to hold a drink. Something I can spill when going fast around a corner ;-)

Why don't clip something to your steering wheel as a cup holder?

My sippy cup works fine for that, unless it's beer. The carbonation tends to foam out the drinking spout in repeated twisty corners !

The only drink allowed in a car not available in a 0.5 liter screw-top bottle is coffee. And why you wanna drink coffee on a twisty road I can't understand... 8)

Well, other than Mats giving me a little guff, I guess there's no ideas out there. I have to replace the parking brake cable anyway so I'll have a look when I'm up under there.

I know for the hyper ultra purists (like Mats ;-) ) that cup holders and cars don't mix, but I've got my GTV6 for track days and most of the canyon carving. This Milano will see most use in the daily commute. And a cup of coffee (not Starbucks) during the morning drive is nice.

If I figure something out, I'll post it here. Mats can evaluate when ever I get around to the project !
