Anybody know of where to get a tool to loosen the locknut on the outer adjuster while allowing allen key access to the adjuster? Am thining of cutting a 17mm socket in half and welding on an arm, but thought there might be an easier option out there somewhere?

thanks in advance

Hi Jason,

Never seen a tool for the job off the shelf. Made one exactly as you say about 15 years ago and been using it ever since. A cheap socket will do as the tension is small. I just welded it onto a 150mm long piece of 12mm square tube after grinding down. (keep it cool during the grind so as not to change the temper).

DIY seems to be the winning ticket at this stage.

I use a recessed ringspanner that has been ground down in thickness.

that's a good idea - probably have some old offset ringspanners that might do the job with some grinding and bending...

Yes they do, you just have to grind the ring a bit thinner, i believe the size is 17mm?
