Some more front big-brake mods.

Post by Jim K »

Regarding the big-brakes topic, I've posted some new pics of the red Brembo 4-pot+M3 disc conversion I did on the 1,8Turbo.
Right now, I'm doing another mod, same red Brembo 4-pots+ 310x32 Wilwood rotors+aluminum bells+brackets. This last one is a bolt-on job for 'roomy' 15" wheels. The same bells and brackets with a spacer can be used with the 323x32mm Wilwood rotors inside 16" wheels. I will post pics of this one when all components are done.
I think both these solutions are more than enough for any gtv or 75 car, whatever the use.

Great stuff!

Spacers in the Caliper for the 32mm disk I guess?

Of course, 9mm spacers, to allow use of the Deltona FCP721 (DS2500) 17,5mm thick pads, instead of the original 14,5mm ones supplied with the calipers.

The calipers are made to fit 28mm discs are they not?
O-rings for leak-proofing?

Naah, use crazy-glue! Of course there are little O-rings in shallow recesses milled on one side of the spacers.
The original designed rotor thickness for these calipers/pads is 28mm. This is how I have them on the Turbo.
