See page before of some pics of the black 75 that's just been posted .

Some pics of a water pump adaptor plate I have been working to make the conversion easier with the motors that have the chain driven oil pump . Due to idler pulley being much lower on these motors the thermostat housing totally clashes and is also off centre for the two pipes from the thermostat to join up to the head . Idea is to cut off flange of Gtv/75 housing and weld new flange into position . Then once welded port out the opening to get the same size as the original and also remove edges . As two of the bolts will be under the housing I have made two tubes in order for the bottom flange to be secured . Bit difficult to explain but will show pics once I'm finished the three I'm working on .

From the shape of the two gaskets in pic it can be seen clearly the mods needed but even then it's in wrong position hence whole new flange .

Pic shows interference of the lower idler bearing and using standard housing with minor adaptions . It cannot be done . Also so does not line up to pipes
Black pen line shows where to hole saw . Note if you go to big it definitely weekend the support for the bearing as there has been a failure from to much meat being taken .

Pic of thermo with new flange . Can see pen marks where it will be ported out to get water flow . Other pic shows clearance from bearing plus belt

WOw, cutting a hole in the head, no way I would do that. I would just do what most others would have done, just use that pipe coming from the back of the heads. It looks like the 164 block route is more straight forward.

Noooo, you got it all wrong , that's just a plate in front of the head which has a brass bung behind it . These just screw out and are replaced with the ones from the back . Just a simple swap , probabably easier than changing a spark plug !

Oh yes, now I remember. The chain driven oil pump engines have that aluminum bracket.

While I was drawing parts to be cut I did plenum again . Also working on adaptor for oil filter / adaptor do you don't have to drill in block but I think I will only finish that next month . Just digging up some old dims for coupling cage as well . These work really well . The black 75 that raced at Brands in the weekend . Some pics to follow.

Been a while , but in spare time been making plenums up from parts I laser cut ages ago . Some pics of it tacked up

I see these manifolds which originally came from me were up on eBay

I do know who has them now if anyone is interested at a reduced price .

The design is not ideal and true to the ultimate power gains but as an easy solution with good access in and around the engine bay ( starter motor ) they are pretty good and serve the purpose .

Hah! You must have made several of these, as they look almost exactly the same with the set you sent me several years ago, but not identical. I can tell from comparing the welding seam details with the pics side-by-side. Lots of water under the bridge since then... :wink:

Kev,

Do you have the laser cut guibo protector? I need one for the front and rear guibos.

Hi , yes I do have a few left and to be honest you only need it on the front as its only the front one that distorts and twists the most . The front one takes full brunt of initial energy transfer and it sits statically at the worst angle of all three .
I had on the rear at one stage in my car then inspected the marks from the twist the prop bolts made and not even close to the punishment the front took.
I took a video of my mates 75 3.2 Gta on Friday at Goodwood reving to 7200 in fourth - sounds brilliant ! He only runs one of my cages upfront and the webbed clutch housing I copied from MD . Car is pretty bullet proof ... So far !

Is it the rpm that gets the guibo torque? I think it is the centrifugal at higher rpm's that does the damage.
