modified TS

Post by Zamani »

What's a realistic power figure from a:

2.0 TS stock heads & cams
11:1 85mm pistons
Aftermarket EFI

If for a turbo TS, would a 9:1 pistons, 10 psi of boost be a good recipe for 220 bhp without much lag?

Thanks

Here in the Dutch trofeo cars claim to be around 210 - 230 hp. With some very serious ($$$$$$) modifications. So if you go for HP then it would be a turbo, but I think this is cheating.
For track use I stick with NA.

Cmon Z!

Here's a taste of what it could be like!

TS 8V. Stock Valves and Cams

Good Rods, forged pistons 7.8:1

3" thick I/C and nice pipework w/ a good tuned length manifold, and a GT25 with an Ext W/G- you'd be ableto pump 25psi into it, and the HP figure would get to an easy 380 f/w.

Add cams valves and porting, and the boost could drop and give you the same HP!

So much more torque, and IMO much cheaper than doing a Big NA 3.7 or the like.... and ITS LIGHT!!

Quick update- Have gone solo, and am in the circuit almost daily, practising glide approaches and the like.... this stuff is more mentally tiring than a track day!

I LOVE IT !

PS Z- you know you want the boost! It's the only way to go!
Fixing it bit by bit....

Thanks very much Greg!

1st solo was a busy circuit! 2 x Fairchild Metro IIIs and 1 x QANTAS Dash 8 Q400 + me in a piper Warrior II holding them all up!!!!

TT, Beninca always said to go TS- better head, Twin plug has better flame control and more detonation resistance in the head, plus better bottom end.

a 10:1 TS, porting, cams, and extractors, with aftermarket management, would make around 130kw, and nice torque, methinks.

Get serious, and add compression, valves, rods, and throttle bodies, and over 200hp on the cards.

Got the cash?

Spend the same amount on a blown or turbo TS and reap the benefits!

Yeah, TS head is miles ahead of the Nord, bottom end is pretty much the same.
