What you need is a valve in the exhaist to make it loud whan you want it. :)

Hey mats,

I have the electric valve. But what I would like is a vacuum actuated valve. something like a pierburg vacuum actuator controlling the valve in the exhaust. Most new cars have this setup.

Exhaust bypass valves are illegal for my type of car (club plate rego).

Besides, I've never liked my cars loud, prefering a low growl to loud howl.

I didn't mean to open it straight out at the manifolds, just bypass a muffler or two to make it a bit louder. :)

1-1=0
That's the problem of having a car so low, no room underneath for any mufflers, so one and only one, is mounted transversely across the back.
Not ideal for the full V6 symphony but that's life.

I could run twin side pipes like a lot of V8 rods. I did consider it until a guy sent me a sound clip of just such a set up in an alfa powered locost and it sounded real weak.

Great work.

But I am confused :?

You build and Rod paint it look at me yellow.

So you want to been seen but not heard?

A carbi 3.0 would have been perfect sound for this Rod

Is there a link to the complete build of this car ?

I think twin side pipes on an Alfa GTV6 sound great. I have a video of that somewhere on youtube.

Hey Greg, i recently watched a youtube video of a guy driving a gtv6 with side pipes, and it sounded terrible. The guy filming it was laughing everytime the guy put his foot down, as though he liked it, but i cringed everytime!
I have no doubt a pair of side pipes would sound great, but the car i mentioned in the vid, well i'm sure its not a gtv6, but a 4 instead. No bonnett bulge, late 70's Alfetta?
Why he listed it as a gtv6 i'll never know...

Most would have seen this before, but honestly, how bad does this Alfa sound!!??

This is the car with the side pipes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVozCnA30gY but they collect into a Y at the rear.
The owner sent me a short vid of how it sounded without the Y and it sounded real flat.
Here is his website for the build up.

Hopefully after inspection I can get mine sounding a bit crisper.
