3.0 V6

Post by Niko »

Hi guys...

I'm planning on swapping my 2.5 24V in 156 with 3.0 v6 24V from alfa 166

How much power can I get from 3.0 keeping it n/a and not not spending too much money, my goal would be 270hp...what mods are required to achieve this?

Would a simpler route be going strait for 3.2 GTA engine?
If it aint broken, it soon will be or fiddle with it to find out why it's not until it is.

Should reach 270HP easily...i'm far from an expert, but you should reap around 220-240HP at the rear wheels at least...

Change engine management maybe, inlet tracts...hmm, dont worry the boys will chime in shortly to give you the know how to gain that power.

Me personally i'd change the computer, inlet tracts, and put bigger injectors in and see what that gives, before changing the cams or going for high comp pistons and the like.

But good luck with the conversion and please post some pics once its done!!

After what i have recently spent on rebuilding the 12v, i could have had a 3.0 24v sitting in my gtv6 by now... Not happy i tell you...

Selling 1985 GTV6.

Ecu and injectors, lightened.....plays music.

I think more like 200 to 210 ATW from a GTA 3.2 conversion.

But still the motor to put in.

Go the GTA 3.2.

If I go for 3.2 are there any mods worth of doing while the engine is out?
How much HP can i expect from 3.2 running on decated manifolds....

Would I gain anything from using 2.5 gearbox (shorter)

Niko, definately use the 156 2.5 box. If possible put the q2 diff in . Its what all the guys do here. The 3.0 166 already has the bigger intake tracks ie like the 3.2. Extra cc always helps but you can get 18kw more than a standard GTA with that 166 motor by chainging intake cam , exhaust after manifolds , airfilter and ecu. Then again you do all this to the GTa motor you gain again but you have better midrainge.
